Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, May 14, 2018

At least 43 people have been killed during clashes Monday along the border fence between Israel and Gaza, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. This is the biggest number of fatalities suffered in one day since the latest round of demonstrations began more than six weeks ago. The previous highest number was 17 on March 30, the first day of protests. By a CNN count, based on Ministry of Health figures, more than 90 people have been killed in the demonstrations since March 30.

still think 9/11 was cavemen with box cutters? all of this is being played out on a grand stage.

9/11 wasn't only the start of the never ending war on terror and an inside job...

9/11 was the means to implement and expedite the Greater Israel land grab that is in motion.

The Wolfowitz Doctrine explicitly and unabashedly pushes for complete US supremacy at the cost of any other value. If it is truly the guiding principle of US foreign policy and geopolitical maneuvering, as it appears to be, it comes as no surprise then that America is such a hypocrite on the world stage. To put on a good face on the world stage, and feed the propaganda that it only promotes democracy and peace, the US is forced to use rhetoric claiming it values the promotion of democracy, the promotion of human rights, the self-determination of people and nations, and the elimination of terrorism. Yet, whenever any of these "values" conflict with the ideals set out in the Wolfowitz Doctrine, the US always chooses its own supremacy over them.

The Trump-Evangelical lovefest continues:

"I believe, Father, I speak for every one of us when I say we thank you every day that you have given us a president who boldly stands on the right side of history, but more importantly stands on the right side of you, God, when it comes to Israel," Jeffress said in a blessing.

"We are thankful to President Trump for making good on a promise that his predecessors chose to ignore," evangelical Penny Nancy, the president and CEO of Concerned Women for America, wrote in a Fox News op-ed.

I honestly heard our American Ambassador to Israel putting forth basically that exact argument, stating they've owned Israel for 4000 years, ever since God created the world. What a bunch of hooey and for an American Ambassador to speak such religious baloney insults America where we respect separation of church and state.

Lindsey Graham: If You Have A Problem With Jerusalem As Israeli Capital, 'Take It Up With God'

"I voted for this in 1995 when I was a freshman member of Congress," Graham said. "There is no nation on Earth that provides us with better intelligence about radical Islam than Israel. There is nobody that tells us more about Iran than Israel."

"So Israel makes us safer and the least we can do is recognize their capital. If you have a problem with Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, take it up with God," Graham added.

The move came just days after Trump announced U.S. withdrawal from the controversial Iran Deal, a move that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised. Netanyahu had previously delivered a speech to a joint session of Congress in the U.S., pleading with American lawmakers to pull out from the agreement, which Netanyahu said threatened Israel's existence.

Everyone knows why the Palestinians are worried about Jerusalem and what comes next. Well everyone except you apparently.

The Palestinians just lost any hope of resolving the issue. Both the Israelis and Palestinians claim the city as their political capital and as a sacred religious site.

Israel controls the entirety of the city. Any peace deal needs to resolve that.

Any peace deal is now off. The problem will not be resolved.

If you had an individual who had secured another individual where there was no escape, would you allow the victim die of thrust or hunger or would you get that location with what ever means available? If you have an individual who is a known member of an organization who has conducted terrorist operations against us and promise to do so in the future, would you respect that person's rights or would you get every bit of intelligence he possessed? Besides, we don't have to beat the individual half to death, we have other methods which are more productive.(Better living through chemistry).

Shep Smith: Jeffress views on other religious groups, LGBT community 'are well-documented'

"One of the men who gave a prayer before the ceremony in Jerusalem today says he believes all Jews are going to hell," Smith, who serves as Fox News's chief news anchor, told his viewers.

"Robert Jeffress is the pastor at the first Baptist church in Dallas. His views on other religious groups, and Judaism, as well as the LGBT community, are well-documented," he continued.

Smith also shared Jeffress's views on Mormonism, Islam and the gay community.

"Jeffress said Mormonism has never been part of Christianity. Islam is a false religion and if you follow the tenants of it, you will end up in hell when you die," he said. "He's accused gays of being engaged in the most unclean acts you can imagine and said the Supreme Court decision on marriage equality is the greates,t most historic landmark blunder ever in the court's history,"

"Reporters at the White House briefing today asked why he was chosen to bless this event," he added. "The spokesman [Raj Shah] said the pastor has a longstanding relationship with people on both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill and his remarks are one with which the president does not disagree."

"Full disclosure, [Robert] Jeffress is a Fox News contributor," Smith concluded.

And speaking of massing on borders..

In May 1967, Nasser received false reports from the Soviet Union that Israel was massing on the Syrian border.[34] Nasser began massing his troops in two defensive lines[35] in the Sinai Peninsula on Israel's border (May 16), expelled the UNEF force from Gaza and Sinai (May 19) and took over UNEF positions at Sharm el-Sheikh, overlooking the Straits of Tiran.[36][37] Israel repeated declarations it made in 1957 that any closure of the Straits would be considered an act of war, or justification for war,[38][39] but Nasser closed the Straits to Israeli shipping on May 22–23.[40][41][42] After the war, U.S. President Lyndon Johnson commented:[43]

If a single act of folly was more responsible for this explosion than any other, it was the arbitrary and dangerous announced decision that the Straits of Tiran would be closed. The right of innocent, maritime passage must be preserved for all nations.

That's what started the war, as usual, Muslim aggression.

The aftermath of the war is also of religious significance. Under Jordanian rule, Jews were expelled from Jerusalem and were effectively barred from visiting the Western Wall (even though Article VIII of the 1949 Armistice Agreement demanded Israeli Jewish access to the Western Wall).[157][158] Jewish holy sites were not maintained, and Jewish cemeteries had been desecrated. After the annexation to Israel, each religious group was granted administration over its holy sites. For the first time since 1948, Jews could visit the Old City of Jerusalem and pray at the Western Wall, the holiest site where Jews are permitted to pray.[159] Despite the Temple Mount being the most important holy site in Jewish tradition, the al-Aqsa Mosque has been under sole administration of the Jordanian Muslim Waqf, and Jews are barred from praying on the Temple Mount, although they are allowed to visit it.[160][161] In Hebron, Jews gained access to the Cave of the Patriarchs (the second most holy site in Judaism, after the Temple Mount) for the first time since the 14th century (previously Jews were allowed to pray only at the entrance).[162] Other Jewish holy sites, such as Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem and Joseph's Tomb in Nablus, also became accessible.

I notice you Muslim apologists never mention this.

All these Jewish and Christian sites, once in the hands of our religion, conquered by Muslims and our religion not allowed to worship there. So they can just not allow us access and it's ok with you? Of course it is. Muslims can do no wrong, right?

You can take your repeated attempts at creating a strawman, and build yourself a hut.

The "what if" follows with your decrying the Israeli oppressors and your obvious support of a Palestinian State. If that is not your intention, then what exactly do you envision for Isreal/Palestine?

Jewish holy sites were not maintained, and Jewish cemeteries had been desecrated.

That's code speak for destroyed. The same thing the Taliban did to the buddist statues in Afghanistan. Why is it every other religion will respect other religious monuments yet Islam wont? And why dont you liberals call them out for it?

After the annexation to Israel, each religious group was granted administration over its holy sites.

And that even included Muslims over their holy sites. The Temple Mount is VERY holy to Christians and Jews. That's called moderation. That's called class. You think the Muslims would continue to let Jews pray at the western wall? NO. You know the answer.

So you arguments on the side of Muslims rings hollow to me, for it were up to you, the Jews would be no more and at the mercy of marauding Muslims who take land in war and never give it back, but you expect Israel to give back land gotten in the same way the Muslims took or tried to take from the Jews.

I say Keep it up Israel. Dont give them an inch, for they wouldnt give you one.

Wow. You're still going on about this? I gotta give you conservatives credit, you're persistent.

Let's see. I wrote, "Jerusalem should be respected as a holy city not under the control of any nation."

You hysterically jumped in with, "Talk about ignorance, where do you think the Palestinians want to put their capital?"

When I reiterated my opinion. That "Jerusalem should be respected as a holy city, not under the control of any nation."

You doubled down with, "If there is a Palestinian State, guess where they will put their capital? How are they different from Israel in that regard?"

Then. Again. I plainly stated, "Jerusalem should be respected as a holy city, not under the control of any nation." This time mocking your "what if".

So, in sheer desperation you muster, "what if" follows with your decrying the Israeli oppressors and your obvious support of a Palestinian State."

The "what if" doesn't follow. Its a fantasy. It's a waste of time to entertain your nonsense.

Not to mention, your question is already answered by my statement, "Jerusalem should be respected as a holy city, not under the control of any nation."

Perhaps you're too dense to understand such a simple statement.

If that is not your intention,

Which intention? The one you keep trying to pin on me? Is this some kind of tactic you utilize in court?

what exactly do you envision for Isreal/Palestine?

Israel becomes an autonomous nation, without aid from America.

Palestine becomes an independent nation. In control of their means of food, and power, and construction, and education, and economy, and daily lives...

People will enjoy your posts more if you actually made a point.

Tell me about it, I can't wait for your next post. Perhaps it will be strawman free, for a change.

That might make sense, if we pretend that Y didn't start 6 weeks ago (or 70 years ago, really). But it did. America acknowledging reality is not provocation for violence by Palestinians against Israel. It makes no logical sense. Advocating for or excusing violence of the Jews due to the actions of America ridiculous, and should be ridiculed accordingly.

Israel claims it has to "defend its borders" when they have imprisoned a foreign nation in land which does not belong to them which they have occupied by force since the six day war. They have rendered the people they occupy unable to defend themselves let alone be any threat to the Israeli State. Israel claims all the people they killed and hospitalized are the fault of Hamas. The entire Israeli argument is an exercise in fantasy and is supported by the United States. A support built on the bible thumpers yearning for the second coming and Deep State determination to control the supply of oil by US military force. Its all a big fat lie and its bad for you.
