Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, April 27, 2018

The Republican-led House intelligence committee on Friday released a lengthy report concluding it found no evidence that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 presidential campaign, a finding that drew praise from the president and rebuttals from Democrats.

Finding #29: There is no evidence that Trump associates were involved in the theft or publication of Clinton campaign-related emails, although Trump associates had numerous ill-advised contacts with Wikileaks.

"But the committee's Republicans didn't let the Trump campaign completely off the hook. They specifically cited the Trump campaign for "poor judgment" in taking a June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower with Russian operatives and dubbed the campaign's praise of WikiLeaks "objectionable."

The campaign's praise of Wikileaks? That is bull oney, Trump praised Wikileaks himself, said he loved them. He also specifically asked the Russians to hack Hillary's email.

It's a total white-wash, what did you realistically expect, that the GOP was going to deal with this objectively?

The Russian lawyer Don Jr. hosted at Trump Tower just admitted she's an informant

The Russian lawyer whom Donald Trump Jr. hosted during his infamous meeting at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016 -- Natalia Veselnitskaya -- has insisted she is not Kremlin spy. But according to newly-released emails from a Russian watchdog group, as well as Veselnitskaya's own admission in a forthcoming television interview, she has been an informant for the Russian government for years.

"I am a lawyer, and I am an informant," she said in an interview with NBC News to be broadcast on Friday, according to the New York Times. "Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general."

The New York Times also reported that per emails obtained by Dossier, a Russian government watchdog group established by Russian exile and Putin foe Mikhail Khodorkovsky, she "worked hand in glove with Russia's chief legal office to thwart a Justice Department civil fraud case against a well-connected Russian firm." Veselnitskaya, asked about the emails in the NBC interview, said she was hacked.

In June, Donald Trump Jr., as well as senior adviser Jared Kushner and campaign chairman Paul Manafort, hosted a group that included Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower, the headquarters of Donald Trump Sr.'s presidential campaign.

No collusion whatsoever.... Don Jr. hosted a meeting with a now-admitted Russian agent in Trump Tower attended by Jared Kushner and then campaign manager Paul Manafort amongst others with the intent of receiving damaging information about Hillary Clinton as part of the Russian government's support of Donald Trump's campaign.

I'm convinced, thanks GOP.

They were never going to come to any other conclusion.

Hell, Trump could have blurted out the truth on Fox and Friends and they'd still release the same white washed report.

The DNC paid Christoper Steele to meet with admitted Russian agents with the intent to and actually receive damaging information about Donald Trump as part of those Russians support of Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The fact that narrative can be flipped so easily is why Mueller will never base collusion charges on Tinyhands Jr.s misadventures in Trump Tower.

False. Buying dirt is legal. Accepting stolen dirt as a bribe is not.

Russia bribed Trump with stolen emails and a troll farm to weaken sanctions, and he did.
The dems did not release the dirt they bought.

Trump does the bidding of Putin. The dems don't.

There is no equivalence.

was all this before or after they lied about Russian adoptions?

LOL, keep telling yourself that, its still not going to change the fact that Mueller will not base collusion charges on Jr.'s meeting with Vileslutskaya.

#12 I have no idea what Mueller is going to do. All I said was Trump accepted bribes from Putin and the dems didn't.
I notice that the deflections have moved from "No he didn't" to "Its not a crime".
I guess we will see what happens.

#15 | Posted by Tor at 2018-04-27 07:48 PM | Reply

I don't recall ever saying that Jr. didn't meet with Vileslutskaya, I do recall saying that he failed miserably if his intent was to get dirt on Hillary.

Steele, on the other hand, was spectacularly successful at getting dirt on Trump from his Russian Govenment sources, but as you say, "its not a crime."

You're saying that as if anyone expected anything different.

This is the party that defied the founders and blocked a president from filling a supreme court seat, denies climate change, and says trickle down economics helps the poor. Of course they're not going to say their leader did anything wrong. They helped him cover his tracks. They're choosing to destroy the countries faith in the FBI instead. What patriots.

Thank God this is over, that was so close.

We almost had a President who lied, hired traitors and spies and laundered money and who almost colluded with the Russians.

Whew!

But aren't you happy Laura? Trump is cleared of wrongdoing. Now he can be free to put transgenders in their place. He can ban all the muslims and throw out the Dreamers. He can roll back all corporate regulations and end gay marriage. He can take us back to the fifties when America was great (for the white man).

Heck now he can throw Hillary in jail! Now wouldn't THAT make you happy?

You cannot possibly be this stupid. This is impossible to do barring the Russians inventing the flux capacity and amassing 1.21 gigawatts. However, Trump saying the Russians should post her emails if they had been able to hack it at the time it was active (which all indicators being that they did) is another thing entirely.

Rex and Avigdore know the truth as well as I do and that just makes their pretend arguments funnier. You guys should peddle them where someone will actually believe them, not here. We all know the truth and we also all know that the Republican led committee was never going to acknowledge the truth. We'll wait for Mueller, meanwhile go sell your garbage to the idiots who agree with you.

You either believe the Magnitsy act was a big deal in the last election or the Trump Jr lied when he said it wasn't a campaign issue.
Either way, 'things that Danforth believes' and 'reality' aren't aligned.

I called Junior a liar because he told multiple versions of the same story. He told Hannity he'd come clean, and the next day was proven wrong.

"GOP-led House Panel"? Bad headline. "GOP-controlled" would be accurate. There's no leadership from the Republicans controlling the House or Senate, either one. They're letting a bad-man president pull them around by the rings in their noses. No sign that will change before November.
