Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, April 17, 2018

"The Democratic Party is a champion of labor rights, except where its own laborers are concerned," reads the sign-on letter for the Campaign Workers Guild. "We sacrifice our health, financial security, and leisure time to support candidates and movements that we hope will make our society more prosperous, equitable, and inclusive. It's time for our employers to live up to the values they publicly espouse." While the CWG declined to say how many campaigns they've tried to unionize or discuss ongoing efforts, they acknowledged encountering resistance from progressive candidates and organizations.

And the Democratic National Committee recently began paying its interns, responding to criticism in a separate but related fight. On Capitol Hill, Republicans are actually more likely to pay interns than Democrats, according to a report by the advocacy group Pay our Interns.

You probably shouldn't leave this part out because it sort of raises a problem for the story:

"While the CWG declined to say how many campaigns they've tried to unionize or discuss ongoing efforts, they acknowledged encountering resistance from progressive candidates and organizations."

I also love how a few candidates and organizations now represent the entire Democratic party.

I'm pretty much down to supporting a party that is insanely Evil, or a party that is deliberately Evil.

I... think I know how this ends, though: Evil wins.

YMMV.

It is not possible to support union workers in the US while simultaneously campaigning for open borders. The two ideas are mutually exclusive. Only the dumbest of the dumb on the dem side still pretend they give a rat's ass about labor. You aren't open borders if you are pro labor. You don't promote globalism and export of US jobs if you are pro labor. The Dems have not been pro labor for 40 years.

The first thing that happens when we legalize the residency status of undocumented workers is an explosion of union activity. They are already organized far more than most in this country. It's how they find jobs and housing. They just can't demonstrate openly... yet. When they do, hold on to your f$*king hat because they are going to change the employer/employee relationship in this country for the better.

If they were good at organizing anything but illegal immigrant caravans to the US (and even that isn't working out), there would not be a dictatorship with rampant corruption.

Again, the only way unions will actually work again is if you can close the border to stem the tide of low skill labor. Even above premise "The first thing that happens when we legalize the residency status of undocumented workers is an explosion of union activity" misses the fact that it will not be "an explosion of union activity" but an explosion in new illegal immigrants waiting on the next mass amnesty, just like when the fool Reagan trusted the Dems with his amnesty. That additional wave of new immigrants will continue to perpetuate the problem of too much unskilled labor for a decreasing number of jobs. Again, you cannot be pro-union and pro-open borders.

Reagan actually granted Amnesty because Conservative farm owners needed the cheap labor. It had nothing to do with the Dems.

Beyond depressing wages, which is why your masters keep importing them in the first place, they also are responsible for a lot of crime. Again, if we are talking about crimes by illegal aliens, 100% of those crimes are preventable.

www.justice.gov

Out of the 185,507 inmates in BOP custody, 39,455 (21 percent) were reported by BOP as foreign-born. Further details regarding these 39,455 foreign-born inmates are as follows:
- 20,240 (51 percent) were unauthorized aliens who are subject to a final order of removal;
- 14,979 (38 percent) remain under ICE investigation;
- 2,374 (6 percent) were unlawfully present and now in removal proceedings;
- 1,852 (less than 5 percent) were lawfully present aliens but are now in removal proceedings; and

So, illegals make up 21% of BOP inmates - but, I thought we only have 10M total illegals here so they make up 3.6% of the US population.

They also commit violent crimes at 2x the rate of the native born - and no, don't try to give fake stats by grouping "all immigrants" rather than focus on illegal immigrants.

Again, in what fake reality do you reside?

Seriously, I have to debunk this again?! Let me once again correct your Fake Reality.

It's hard to imagine how you can tie your shoes let alone get on the computer and post.
OF COURSE a majority of the federal prisoners are immigrants, numbskull. Most of them are there for BEING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, not other crimes. (Citation below using your own source material)
In addition, 22% are foreign born, but not necessarily all here illegally. Don't get me wrong. There area lot of illegal immigrants in federal prison.
But in 2014, of the "illegal" residents, 20,333 -- 74 percent of them -- were primarily sentenced for immigration violations, not violent crimes. Nine unauthorized immigrants were primarily convicted of murder, 50 of assault, 19 of sexual abuse.
According to the fiscal 2015 chart, 19,240 of the sentenced noncitizens, 66 percent of them approximately, were primarily sentenced for immigration violations. Among 9,926 noncitizens primarily convicted of a non-immigration violation, 62 were primarily convicted of assault, 24 of sexual assault, 15 of murder, the chart indicates.
Those aren't very big numbers for violent crime...

#28 | POSTED BY REX_BUYT

I haven't seen a single person on here support Open Borders. They've supported legalizing some that are here mostly for pragmatic reasons. Not all, but some. Open Borders would be allowing anyone to come here who wants to or nearly anyone. NO ONE has suggested that, Snowflake.

And the reason we oppose the Wall is because IT WOULDN'T ------- WORK! Every single study done has said it would either accomplish NOTHING or make the immigration problem EVEN WORSE. In fact, we used to have a semi-permeable border with Mexico where illegal immigrants came all the time to work farm jobs, earned money to be sent home and eventually went home. Republicans loved it because farmers needed it in the 70's and 80's. The number of illegal immigrants actually went UP when we started enforcing border security because people were afraid to go home on the chance they'd get caught or get caught if they tried to come back later.

Not to mention the real issue is people overstaying their VISAs which the Wall doesn't do anything for. That's where our real immigration issue stems from.

So no, we don't support blowing a half trillion dollars on a wall that won't work.

And if you are really stupid enough to believe that a wall, let alone anything else, will be "permanently stopping illegal immigration", then you are even dumber than most of us imagined.

11,459 (59 percent) were aliens who are subject to a final order of removal;
6,230 (32 percent) remain under ICE investigation;
1,261 (6.5 percent) were unlawfully present and now in removal proceedings;

Demi won't publicly state they are in favor of open borders, for obvious fear of losing votes. Occasionally one let's the cat out of the bag, like the Democrat congressman who said he would like to bulldoze border fortifications.

Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas) expressed his dissatisfaction with the existing fencing that separates the United States and Mexico along parts of the nearly 2,000-mile border.

"I strongly oppose Trump's wall," he said. "In fact, I would take a bulldozer to every inch of existing structure on the U.S.-Mexican border."

ICE Investigation does not mean they are here illegally. It means ICE is considering pulling their legal status. ICE knows immediately if they are here illegally.

To a very, very high degree, it means exactly that. From the link I provided to you in my initial response:
USMS identified 19,311 aliens and foreign-born inmates under ICE investigation detained at USMS facilities. Further details regarding these 19,311 foreign-born inmates are as follows:
11,459 (59 percent) were aliens who are subject to a final order of removal;
6,230 (32 percent) remain under ICE investigation;
1,261 (6.5 percent) were unlawfully present and now in removal proceedings;
358 (less than 2 percent) were lawfully present but are now in removal proceedings; and
3 were aliens who have been granted relief or protection from removal.

It's like talking to a brick wall...a very dumb brick wall... You said "They also commit violent crimes at 2x the rate of the native born - and no, don't try to give fake stats by grouping "all immigrants" rather than focus on illegal immigrants."

Verdict: You lied.

The numbers you posted above are actually those who are in Federal Prison ahead of trial. Though they are similar to the percentages for those already found guilty and sentenced though.

First, you are getting way away from the point which is why you are not understanding. The majority of illegal aliens in Federal Prison are there for simply being here illegally. You have nothing to dispute that. I've presented the evidence from the Bureau of Prisons. They are not there for violent crimes. They are serving their sentences for being here illegally before we deport them. That inflates the number of illegal aliens in the federal prison system greatly.
Second, being under ICE Investigation does not mean you are here illegally. The ICE Investigation is generally whether they should bring revocation of legal status filings and ask for a final order for deportation. Even your own sources don't claim these people are here unlawfully. Why would ICE Investigate someone who is here illegally? They already subject to deportation.
Third, in many cases, the Final Order for Removal is what revoked their right to be here and being subject to it is what makes them illegal. Many have become illegal residents AFTER being in prison. We revoked their right to be here after they were sentenced. We hold them AFTER we sentence them to serve their time THEN we deport them. This is the huge reason why the remaining majority of the Federal Prison population is here illegally. They were here legally and now we've revoked their legal status.

Stop deflecting.

If you have numbers to prove these inmates are there for violent crimes, present them and stop wasting everyone's time with your damn nonsense.

And Danni is too dumb to realize a huge part of the wage stagnation at the low skill level in the US is due to a flood of cheap illegal immigrants so she just shouts at the sky.

This might be what your construction buddies tell you. Every peer reviewed study has suggested its not the case.

Science. Deal with it.

No one is for "open borders".

You are a huge, huge liar. Go ask Danni, Corky, and Snoofy. Those turd stains advocate for exactly that on a daily basis. Quit lying.

Put up or shut the hell up.

Show us ONCE where they argued for Open Borders.

Not once have they argued for an open border that enables free movement of people between different jurisdictions with limited or no restrictions on movement, that is to say lacking substantive border control.

If they have, SHOW US.

Go ahead Snoofy. Tell these guys that you are for a closed immigration system. Tell them that you don't advocate for open borders. LOL.

Do you understand there are more options than Open Border and Closed Border?

A 2 year sentence for illegal immigration, imprisonment for employers knowingly hiring illegals would, and 5 years in jail for SS identity theft along with the wall sure as hell would. Why do you think a country like Japan has zero issues with illegal immigrants?

An Ocean.

By the way, Japan has a HUGE immigration problem: www.cnn.com
They are coming to the point of begging for immigrants to move there.

Actually, they know exactly; future Dem voters, as soon as the Dems regain control of the white house and congress and give them a quick and easy path to citizenship. Which will give them a demographic lock for decades.

What a horrible concept. What if this country had built on that kind of thinking.... oh, wait....

Why do you love cheap slave labor and hate the American working class?

You're not a friend to immigration, you're one of the illegal immigration enablers that exploits desperate third world laborers for corporate profits.

Same as Bill Clinton and Obama.

Almost all of which are descended from former immigrants.

Will Japan guarantee fair wages, training, health and occupational safety, provide housing, healthcare, workers rights, etc?

Or will they exploit desperate third world laborers, like we do in the US for cheap food and meat?

They have pretty decent wages, training, safety, housing, etc.

But if you read the article, exploiting third world laborers won't solve their issues because they have an aging population and low birth rate.
