Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, April 14, 2018

The Justice Department special counsel has evidence that Donald Trump's personal lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, secretly made a late-summer trip to Prague during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Confirmation of the trip would lend credence to a retired British spy's report that Cohen strategized there with a powerful Kremlin figure about Russian meddling in the U.S. election ... Cohen has denied for months that he ever has been in Prague or colluded with Russia during the campaign.

As I said a few days ago...

The big headlines regarding Mr Cohen have not yet been seen.

Cohen grew up among the Russian Mafiya, as they call it, and handle their money laundering for Trump. It's no wonder he will also turn out to be the point of political collusion.

The tape could be broadcast on live tv showing Dementia Don in the------------- and the Trumpterds would still scream "FAKE NOOZE"

Evangelicals around the world are still celebrating Donald's Presidency. He is who they have been waiting for.

Per Lyin' Comey, Trump ordered him to investigate the dossier so he could officially state the dossier was fake. Incompetent Comey either refused to investigate or was too stupid to publish the findings. However, Trump ordering the FBI to investigate it pretty much shows that Trump believes the dossier is fake. Hard for libs to wrap their tiny brains around.

I cannot wait for the next election and all the fake dossiers that will be released. Hell, I might write one myself.

Hey, Rex, Trump told the FBI what he wanted them to find, not to "investigate" the dossier.

No, he specifically wanted the pee tape debunked. Even Comey admits that.

The pee-pee tape must never be debunked.
It's up there with the clintons killing Vince foster, Kerry slaying blind amputee twink pre-teens in Nam, and the whitey tape.

Even if it is debunked, it will always be awesome and true.

Allegedly to make payments to Russian bots. This implies the Trump campaign was always in charge of these efforts.

How would have been Comey been able to disprove the pee tape when Trump's own bodyguard testified that Trump was in the hotel at the time the pee tape was supposedly produced?

The bodyguard pretty much undermined any probable innocence by doing so, which ultimately solidified Comey's stance that "It's very difficult to prove something did not take place."

Unless you have an alibi, which Trump's bodyguard provided specific counter evidence to.

You can read between the lines, I hope.

Of course he was at the hotel - this supposedly took place to while he was there for the Ms Universe. You taking that as confirming evidence is ridiculous. It is like me stating that you were surfing child porn at 10:40pm and then people thinking it must be true because you posted to drudge at that time so you were on your computer. As to disproving it, you can start by trying to find the girls that were allegedly involved, confirming that the room was indeed bugged, checking with other hotel employees, etc about whether women did enter and go to his floor, etc - there are cameras in every hallway so if prostitutes went to his room, there should be evidence of that. If none of that checks out, you state that the story has zero confirming evidence which means it is debunked.

That is not what Comey said. He said that Trump was thinking of asking him to "investigate the allegation to prove it was a lie." This was during the same dinner when Trump demanded loyalty from Comey and asked him to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn.

Trump didn't order the FBI to investigate anything. The FBI was already investigating Trump-Russia connections and he never gave the order to look into the allegations of the tap specifically, presumably because he didn't get a pledge of loyalty from Comey. Keep in mind that we are talking about the same President who has said he wants an AG who will protect. Trump acts like a guilty person because Trump is a guilty person.

Your talking points are wrong, better get more Rachel Maddow updates. I am referring specifically to what Comey wrote in his book - and it was not at the dinner, etc per your incorrect talking points.

""
A week after the Trump Tower meeting, on Jan. 11, Comey writes that Trump called him and said he was concerned about the dossier being made public and was fixated on the prostitutes allegation. The president-elect argued that it could not be true because he had not stayed overnight in Moscow but had only used the hotel room to change his clothes. And after Trump explained that he would never allow people to urinate near him, Comey recalls laughing.""

#17 - Oh I see, now you that you are semi-literate. The rest of story that you are not capable of reading goes like this.

"After one week as president, Trump invited Comey to dinner. Comey describes the scene on Jan. 27: The table in the Green Room was set for two...Comey writes that he believed Trump was trying "to establish a patronage relationship," and that he said: "I need loyalty. I expect loyalty....and then Trump brought up "the golden showers thing," Comey writes. The president told him that "it bothered him if there was ‘even a one percent chance' his wife, Melania, thought it was true." Comey writes that Trump told him to consider having the FBI investigate the prostitutes allegation to "prove it was a lie."

Why does anyone bother responding to Rex?

It doesn't matter what happens, he logs in here and posts a 9 paragraph run down of a Hannity rant and calls 'er good.

Had Cohen said, "Sure, I was in Prague. But I didn't meet (whomever) to discuss (whatever)," he'd be in a different situation. But saying he'd never been to Prague IF he really had been was not s bright thing to say.

Why would a bright man say he'd never been to a city if he really had been? Fear. Panic. Desparation.

Cohen is a bright man. IF he really did go to Prague ... IF he did ... then he's hiding something big. Big enough to cause him fear, panic or desperation.

#21 | Posted by nimbleswitch at 2018-04-15 10:52 AM | Reply

I haven't read that when the FBI raided Cohen's office, home and apartment, Cohen was present at one of those locations during the raids.

Of course, since they were after Cohen's records -- both paper and electronic -- they MUST have made sure he was present during the raids. Otherwise, they wouldn't get his cell phone.

Cohen's cell phone likely would tell them if he had been in Prague. A phone call. A text message. A dictated note. An app that used GPS. A snapshot he'd taken of anything at all while in Prague. It likely would tell them when he was there, too.

And a man like Cohen likely has more than one cell phone.

So, the FBI must have made sure Cohen was present during the raids ... right?

BTW, I AM a lawyer and I most certainly am not "deflated and concerned" because of the raid on Cohen, as Trump says we all are. Trump is clearly either (1) ignorant on the subject of attorney-client privilege, or (2) is not ignorant about it, but is lying to his base. Those are the only two possibilities.

It's both, of course. Trump is using Russian propaganda techniques that he learned and used during his campaign. The problem for him now is that is not as effective on non-deplorables anymore. Still effective on deplorables but we could have a whole thread just to discuss why that is. So expect him to up his game on Twitter and with his "invention", fake news. There will be plenty of deflections and "whatsbouts" along the way to Trumps inevidable Down Fall. But, there will be no admission of guilt and there never will be an admission that Trump has ever done anything wrong.

Only double down after double down until the bitter end.

Think Baghdad Bob.

It's honestly pretty said. You're either paid to post or you're a liar yourself.
