Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, April 13, 2018

James Comey's upcoming book burst into public view Thursday evening, offering a remarkable look into the former FBI director's relationship with President Donald Trump. CNN obtained a copy of the book and corroborated news reports about Comey's highly anticipated recounting of his time in the Trump administration. Comey's recollections detail what he calls Trump's "mob"-like approach to leadership and take aim at the President's disposition, which he says created "the forest fire that is the Trump presidency." "This President is unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values," Comey wrote. "His leadership is transactional, ego driven and about personal loyalty."

A clip of Sunday's interview with Comey aired on CNN: "I honestly never thought these words would come out of my mouth but I don't know whether the current president of the united states was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013," Comey said. "It's possible but I don't know."

"Comey found Trump obsessed with the prostitution allegation, saying that Trump spoke to him on four separate occasions to deny the claim.

The Steele dossier includes an unverified claim that Russian authorities recorded Trump watching prostitutes urinate in a hotel suite.

Comey said Trump called him on January 11, 2017, to explain away the claim.

"'I'm a germaphobe,'" Comey quoted Trump saying. "'There's no way I would let people pee on each other around me. No way.'"

Comey said on the fourth occasion Trump brought up the allegation -- during a March 30, 2017, call -- the President mentioned that the situation was difficult for first lady Melania Trump.

"For about the fourth time, he argued that the 'golden showers thing' wasn't true," Comey wrote, saying Trump asked, "'Can you imagine me, hookers?'"

‘Untruthful slime ball': Trump blasts Comey as details emerge from scathing book
www.washingtonpost.com

...President Trump on Friday lashed out at former FBI director James B. Comey on Twitter, calling him a "weak and untruthful slime ball" who deserved to be fired "for the terrible job he did."...

Funny, when I think of an "untruthful slime ball" in Washington D.C., Mr Comey is not the person who comes to mind.

Trumpeters hear this entirely differently than normal people. They hear Trump and believe what he says. No one else on the planet does. They don't know they are crazy.

Wanna talk policy? How is that useless wall coming along? Have we deported 20 million illegals yet? Any news on DACA? Our infrastructure a ll fixed up? How s that health care bill coming along? Have we repealed that job killing ACA yet? How may regulations that protect us from corporate excess have been rolled back today? Have we banned transgenders from peeing yet? Have we figured out how to prevent the mass shootings of our children yet by adding more guns to the equation??

NPR book reviewer comment today as for as the biggest take from the book:

Comey et al went to the WH the day before the inauguration and briefed Trump and team on Russian election interference. Trump et al were ONLY concerned about the political optics and the best way to spin them, with no concern at all for the fact that it had happened and would happen again.

That's when he turned off on Trump.

Also in the book, and the thread article, Comey admits that he might well have not prematurely gone public about her emails had he not thought she was going to win anyway.

You mean the ones that McCabe was sitting on when his wife got that $1.2 million campaign donation??

Or was this the batch that McCabe and Comey knew about but didn't report to Congress for a month until late October.

It's hard to keep track of all the different email releases and who was covering for who.

#15 The IG criticized McCabe because he misled about releasing info on a Clinton investigation that was against FBI policy. At the time Republican agents were leaking info and he may have merely tried to defend the FBI instead of embarrass Hillary.
That wasn't the reason he was fired.
He was fired because Trump was furious at McCabe for his part in the Russia investigation.

Hillary may have been let off easy for her email shenanigans but trumps crimes are far worse. The question is whether U.S. law applied to the powerful anymore.

#15 no one at the FBI should have been talking about Hillary's emails until the investigatiom was over.
Muellers team is solid on the Russian attack investigation.
Based on the indictments so far, Hillary didn't break laws, but members of Trumps campaign did.

bringing back manufacturing jobs,

Do you have any reliable information suggesting Trump is doing this?

stopping illegal immigration,

Illegal immigration was already decreasing.

Until they go after legal low wage imported labor (ie H1B visas), you're just swallowing the BS.

and growing the GDP at 3%+ sure is destroying the middle class.

The economy has been growing at 3+%?

Also, when are we going to stop demanding the absurd? Do you really think sustained 3% growth is possible all the time? Or do you not think there are natural limits on economic growth? Or even that there should be?

While Obama's poor economy decreased the number of illegals coming to the US, the total numbers are completely unknown as no one knows how many are here.

3% growth is only an impossibility when you use Obamanomics where jobs are going away and not coming back...the US is just a slowly dying country in his thinking. Trump already proved that was garbage when he was able to accelerate growth 8+ years into a 'recovery'. But again, keep telling those now employed blacks and low skilled whites that Trump took away their jobs in his effort to destroy the middle class.

LOL dude, literally the first line of your linked article:

But that's not just because of Trump. Lots of factors have contributed to the comeback in manufacturing.

Try again.

While Obama's poor economy

Can you tell me when it tanked under his watch and when it miraculously rose from the dead under Trump?

You don't need to be too specific with the dates, just month or quarter along with the year will be fine.

the total numbers are completely unknown as no one knows how many are here.

So it may not even be that big a problem, certainly not big enough to warrant a tens of billions of dollars boondoggle wall, right?

It did for most of 2017 and will continue to grow through the midterms.

OK so you're walking back your statement now?

And I have no doubt it will grow, the question is whether it's the coveted 3%.

As for the rest of your post, can you please give me an answer that isn't straight from Hannity's ass?

Obama took the economy from the brink of absolute disaster (thanks to the last supply side, tax cutting Repub POTUS BTW...in case you forgot anything before January 2008...) to one that was being trumpeted from the roof tops once a Repub was back in the WH. Up until then it was ---- on.

But again, keep telling those now employed blacks and low skilled whites that Trump took away their jobs in his effort to destroy the middle class.

LOL I love the subtle lie you work into your post here. Namely, that being employed equals middle class.

You're quite skilled in your dishonesty and -------- pedaling. I congratulate you on that account but have no choice but to acknowledge that that make you a pretty terrible human being.

This is CNN. It confirms manufacturing jobs are coming back - which is a fact. It then says the revival is not due to Trump - which is an opinion, and an ignorant one at that.

----------------

Can you tell me when it tanked under his watch and when it miraculously rose from the dead under Trump?

It was one long drawn out 'recovery' where wages stagnated along with economic growth. At the end of the day, that is why Hillary lost. Since Trump, consumer optimism picked up and along with it real growth. Please tell me the last time growth accelerated 8 years into a recovery...oh, that's right, you can't.

GW Bush was an absolute disaster. Half-black Bush was the same. Further, if you want to blame the financial collapse on tax cuts, I think you will be the first one ever to do that - it is pretty ignorant after all.

It confirms manufacturing jobs are coming back - which is a fact. It then says the revival is not due to Trump - which is an opinion, and an ignorant one at that.

Then why bother using it? Surely you have something better to support your point?

It was one long drawn out 'recovery' where wages stagnated along with economic growth.

What length of time would you have needed to bring an economy back from near Great Depression levels?

I love it. Righties ---- all over the Obama economy while acting as if it wasn't their policies or ideas that brought about the downturn to begin with.

It'll happen again with Trump, I'm sure of it.

At the end of the day, that is why Hillary lost.

Wow you're seriously out of touch or a real diehard Faux News groupy. Like willingly licks Lou Dobbs' old wrinkled balls kind of groupy.

Since Trump, consumer optimism picked up and along with it real growth.

Both of those measures were back to pre-depression levels when Trump took over.

That was the reason I asked for specifics; I was hoping you'd see the numbers and realize that the economy that was handed to Trump was an objectively good one at best or certainly one that was many many times better than that than was handed to Obama in 2008.

But you, predictably, failed to see it and regurgitated the standard BS talking points like a good little mindless minion.

Please tell me the last time growth accelerated 8 years into a recovery...oh, that's right, you can't.

Please tell me where you pulled this gem of a cow pile from.

By 2016 the economy had recovered. You're bitching about the kinetics of the recovery in order to justify giving Trump accolades for something he didn't earn.

Yet another example of partisan hackery and a beautiful lie slipped into your posts.

GW Bush was an absolute disaster. Half-black Bush was the same.

Reality disagrees with your assessment of "half black Bush" (God you're an all around POS).

Further, if you want to blame the financial collapse on tax cuts, I think you will be the first one ever to do that - it is pretty ignorant after all.

It was multi-factoral, like most things.

Our government getting downgraded by the major credit agencies didn't help.

Yes, the globalist wing of the GOP which is identical to the Dems. They lost in 2016, which is why the US is finally accelerating growth.

Downgrading of the US government had literally nothing to do with the economic collapse. It was the result of speculation in the housing market paired with the de-industrialization of the US making wage growth stagnant for 30 years. It was a credit fueled bubble that had ZERO to due with government downgrades or GOP tax cuts.

Further, Obama's unwillingness to prosecute ANYONE over it shows you how half-black Bush was no different from Cokehead Bush.

I should add that the downgrade occurred in 2011 so I don't know how that fueled a collapse from 2008/9 or had any part in the run-up in the conditions that made it inevitable. Whoever fed you this talking point is probably an ignorant millennial like yourself because they definitely don't understand what occurred.

I deny that that trend has anything to do with Trump.

LOL I love it how you --------- continually peel off layers of your party as "just like the Dems" or "bunch of RINOs" every time the policy ideas that get Repubs elected fail or *gasp* an elected Repub dares point that out.

Face it. Your ideas are ----.

If they were good you'd have easily found sources supporting it (live I've now asked for twice) and wouldn't have to resort to continually lying about the economy to make your economic "ideas" look good (I notice you push another lie with the acceleration nonsense).

Downgrading of the US government had literally nothing to do with the economic collapse.

Jesus H.

Look -------. It had everything to do with dumbass Republicans following ideology over rationality or loyalty to country.

I was highlighting yet another way in which your kind are TERRIBLE for this country.

It was the result of speculation in the housing market paired with the de-industrialization of the US making wage growth stagnant for 30 years.

Something the GOP (vis a vis their donors) is pushing.
