Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

CIA Director Mike Pompeo did not disclose last year that he owned a business linked to a Chinese government-owned company, McClatchy reported. Pompeo -- who was recently nominated by Trump to be secretary of State -- failed to disclose his business' ties to a Chinese government oil and gas company in the questionnaire he was required to fill out to be confirmed as CIA director by the Senate. That omission could be an issue for him during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday to be secretary of State.

Why does it seem like everyone in Dotards administration has a problem telling the truth?

Because they all seem compromised. Looks like they all worked at it.

It wasn't that many years ago that a man like Pompeo would have been run out of Washington, perhaps tried for treason, for doing exactly the things he is accused of her yet he is still a nominee to be our Sec. of State. I tell you what, I have lost all respect for all of those Hillary haters, if she had done half of what this guy is accused of you would have already put her behind bars.

For me the Right made turning point on the subject of healthy patriotism when they began mocking war wounds, defining them as honorable only when the bearer said everything they wanted him to say.

Now we have a Republican Party that can scarce define patriotism. Their identification with dictatorial systems is increasingly overt. I think their model is Paraguay, with the fascists still in charge.

What sane Republicans as remain out there, join us. As the GOP Rep who was too much of a coward to say it in public revealed to Erik Erikson, you could at least all sleep at night.

If the assets were under his direct management then he has no excuse for not knowing

Pompeo, a three-term congressman from Wichita, served as president of Sentry International, which manufactures and sells oilfield equipment, from 2006 to 2010.

In November 2006, he registered SJ Petro Pump Investment LLC in Kansas. Pompeo and Sentry were both listed as owners of SJ Petro in its 2007 annual report filed with the Kansas Secretary of State's office. In 2008, he was no longer listed as owning more than 5 percent of the company but was still a signing member.

SJ Petro or SJ Petroleum Machinery Co., is a subsidiary of Sinopec, one of the world's largest oil and gas companies. It was majority owned by China Petrochemical Corporation, a state owned enterprise, according to its 2008 annual report.

In 2014, Sinopec and Sibur, a gas processing and petrochemical firm that is partially owned by the Russia government, announced the creation of a joint plant in Shanghai. In November, during Trump's visit to China, Sinopec agreed to help develop a $43 billion natural gas project in Alaska.

I know its complicated but the bottom line is Pompeo owned a subsidiary of a Chinese state owned enterprise.

And Pompeo certified he had no dealings with the Chinese Government. He should go to jail for that lie. instead the Chinese govt will get their own US Sec. of State

If I lied on a job application for Target, they wouldn't hire me, yet he's head of the CIA and soon to be SoS. No wonder this world is so F-d.

If you've ever wondered why the USA has allowed the trade deficit with China to get so large, this is why. Many rich americans have financial interests in China and are enriched by the deficit. These americans have lobbied their congress critters to congress critters to go easy on China and their dutiful democrat and republican lackeys obeyed.

China would not be the power house it is without american financial interests selling out american workers.

Exactly right. And this is why our media is manipulating information about the poor soy bean farmers to make us think we can't have well paying manufacturing jobs here in the U.S. What a pile of garbage and so many progressives are falling for it. It's absolutely ridiculous.

"For me the Right made turning point on the subject of healthy patriotism when they began mocking war wounds, defining them as honorable only when the bearer said everything they wanted him to say."

So, about the Max Cleland era. The way they attacked him was so shameful that it calls into question the patriotism of every Republican in this country. If they could tolerate that they are scum.

Any other President would immediately withdraw his nomination over this.

Republican patriotism has been reduced to waving guns and flags.
Freedom of the press, democratic elections, caring about the future of the citizens or the planet, that's all been abandoned in favor of tribal aggression.

Sure he does. He's a Republican. They all forget what they invested in, who they talked to, or pretty much any other key facts that could incriminate them until someone finds out about it.

The question is what else don't we know because Republicans have become traitors to their country and allow this type of behavior to persist?
