Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The pot industry panicked when U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions ended the government's hands-off policy on weed. Today, it can breathe a bit easier as former Republican House Speaker John Boehner joins the advisory board of U.S. cannabis producer Acreage Holdings. "It is difficult to overstate the impact of this monumental event for the U.S. cannabis sector," Vahan Ajamian, analyst at Beacon Securities Ltd., wrote in a note Wednesday. The announcement that Boehner and former Massachusetts Governor William Weld will advise Acreage, a private company, "should send shockwaves throughout the industry and act as a positive catalyst for the sector as a whole," Ajamian said. Boehner's move marks a fundamental shift for a man who said nine years ago he was "unalterably opposed" to legalization, and indicates that pot is increasingly supported by the American establishment even if the Attorney General still believes "good people don't smoke marijuana."

..."good people don't smoke marijuana."...

According to Pres Trump, good people hold pro-nazi rallies.

Personally, I'd rather have them smoking marijuana, then they'd be a lot more mellow....

HP Hashes Out New Strategy to Target Booming Pot Business

...HP Inc. hopped on the pot bandwagon, offering a more official way to process all that cash dispensaries are collecting.

The computer maker will sell a customized cash register system to marijuana businesses that comes pre-loaded with legal compliance software from Flowhub LLC. The idea is to do away with the tablets that many dispensaries rely on now to process transactions.

"HP is delighted to have our ElitePOS point-of-sale system selected by Flowhub for this comprehensive solution targeted to the growing cannabis industry," Aaron Weiss, a vice president at HP's retail solutions unit, said in a statement. He hailed the opportunity to be part of the "exciting new regulated industry."...

I believe Mexico City tried a prohibition of alcohol at Football events because several people were smothered and trampled horrifically in rioting. They introduced the ban and relaxed on marijuana resulting in zero deaths. Nobody even got hurt. Marijuana for the win.

Alcohol has a different and far less controlled effect - bad decisions, irrationality and anger, just the opposite of marijuana. Stone the Nazi, yes please!

We need some kind of mascot that can reach into both camps and find our connection. For instance, I absolutely dig prepper knowledge and hillbilly craft - which includes garden hacks and obviously marijuana. Like that Burger King magical purple cowboy. A catchy song really helps.

Provided there's money in it being legal, but the cops can still find a way to go after after the poor and minorities, Republicans will be pro-pot in about three years.

- no difference between hillary and trump.

no diff in the rich getting richer, forever wars, and broken hopes and changes.

At least Hillary was honest about one thing, left liberals are despised and will not be tolerated beyond a few crumbs and grand proclamations.

Two liars - both cheaters - and the Bee got stung. The DNC messed up. 45 million didn't even vote. There's a big, big problem in politics.

stop voting to continue it.

And how come "get with the program" is your only solution, when 'the program' has never solved jack, but to make it worse?

Weld's presence is a tad cliche; given his love of the Greatful Dead and all. Anyone here recall when Gov. Weld took a quick dip; fully clothed, in the Charles River; for whatever reason a few years back?
As for Speaker Boehner just pass the Cheetos.

Yeah liberals should stop voting while republicans won't. Great idea. That's how we got trump, sessions, and the renewed war on weed.

...the one that you refuse to listen to.

the one where we get single payer, education, infrastructure, end colonialism, get S.I. money out of politics.

Break the cycle.

Dum dum. Look what happens when liberals don't vote for the more liberal candidate. We are further from those things now that we would be if hillary were president.

Let's look at your prescription for fixing america: refuse to vote until dems provide a real progressive candidate.

Do you think repubs are going to refuse to vote as well? They're going to keep voting, and replacing all the imperfect liberals with rabid insane bible thumping moron republicans, who enact policies that hurt the poor, the sick, the planet, everyone but the rich.

How does this get us any closer to any of the values you have for america? You just want to let republicans harm more and more people and hope they wake up and join you in your quest for the perfect progressive, who fox news will brainwash them into thinking is the second coming of karl marx?

The Democrat party are heavily influenced by money, power and pizza. It's obvious. They enjoy having it delivered to them, saving time and avoiding cameras. Gannon must have delivered the best pie. Er, I mean Bannon. Slice after slice of embezzled funding enjoyed in bed with Steve's hot golden psychometrics splashing all over Trump's hair and face. He can barely gurgle out "your FIRED!", but no matter who he's letting go I'm certain he'll say a mouthful. Happy mind bleaching!

Acreage Holdings considers this a win but it looks pretty pathetic to me. After decades of battle he is now willing to cash-in with a board seat. Was the-devil-himself unavailable?

I looked them up. Posh website, not much info. Says they are tied to HSRC Norcal. I lived, grew, bought and sold in Norcal for 20 years, never heard of HSRC. Looked them up, mostly info in high school rugby. Something tells me these guys aren't my friends.

If someone was to write a political novel about a guy like Boehner (-----) no one would believe the character was realistic enough to be believable. I'll never forget the 60 Minutes interview when they talked to his wife about his crying. That was hilarious.

Break the cycle. Ignore people like Sheeple and talk to as many young folks as possible, get them registered to vote Democrat and tell the Puritopians to go fly a kite. We will fix America incrementally with or without their help.
