WASHINGTON -- Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was taunted with hisses, heckles and profanity during a lecture and moderated discussion at U.C.L.A. this week. Protesters were carried out by armed police officers. A sixth grader in the audience questioned him about the fairness of passing permanent tax cuts for companies and expiring cuts for individuals. But the official video footage of the university's Arnold C. Harberger Lecture, hosted by the Burkle Center for International Relations, is nowhere to be found. That is because Mr. Mnuchin took the unusual step of revoking his consent for it to be released given the contentiousness of the event.

I can see why.

I mean,,, how old are you when you're in the 6th grade?

11 or 12 or so?

12 year old kids really should be able to get under the skin and cause an adult who works in the upper levels of the federal government to have a temper tantrum.

Steve Munchkin with a face any actress could love if it were attached to a fat wallet.

I assume you don't have kids? 12 year olds are nasty little buggers. He is lucky the kid wasn't in 8th grade though they are kings and queens of mean.

I'm just glad they are wise enough to keep dementia don away from 12 year olds, #3.

She wouldn't have been so wise with her well thought out question when he went up her shirt and put his tongue in her mouth.

Well, we can't have members of the Trump administration being held accountable by a sixth grader, can we?

The optics of this is bad on so many levels.

I don't care how many news outlets report this. Everyone knows smart kids do Dr stuff, like Doogie, not HR Block stuff.

Mnuchin is giving the same terrified face that Scott Pruitt puts on when confronted by "the %99".

Also, does anyone understand what he means by this:

"Ryssdal: One of the one of the things the president has said and his advisers have said is, "Listen, we need to fix regulation in this country, financial regulation, the Dodd-Frank financial reform law is too strict, we need to loosen it up a little bit." Brian Moynihan, the CEO of BofA, said the other day, "Dodd-Frank's fine. What are we doing?"

Mnuchin: You know why? Because the top eight banks control all the assets in the United States and they don't want anybody else to compete. So what we're trying to do, and by the way, there is bipartisan support for this, and I think this legislation will be passed in the next three months to modify Dodd-Frank so that commercial banks, regional banks, community banks can succeed. Our objective is we don't want just eight large banks in the United States. So the modifications on Dodd-Frank are all designed to help community banks and regional banks.

Ryssdal: Even though community banks are making record profits this past year.

Mnuchin: Again, that's because the economy is doing better. But yes. Do you want them all to be gobbled up by Brian Moynihan? No. We want to make sure that we have a healthy broad-based banking system."
