Faculty members at Lehigh University have voted overwhelmingly in favor of rescinding President Donald Trump's honorary degree. Trump was presented with the honorary degree in 1988, when he was chosen by the graduating class as commencement speaker. It was standard for all commencement speakers to be given honorary diplomas at that time, Lehigh spokesperson Lori Friedman told CNN.

BTW Lehigh is FAR from a liberal bastion. It is primarily an engineering college and is conservative!

Taking away meaningless honorary degrees is meaningless. That they chose a spoiled rich boy to be the commencement speaker speaks volumes about the real intelligence of the students at Lehigh.

Danni,

That "spoiled rich boy" has succeeded alot in life. He's the definition of success in life, even with failures and oh yea, he became President!

Usually these honorary sheepskins are put in a fancy frame denoting an important moment in a president's life. Then they go on prominent display in a presidential library.

Speaking of a presidential library, now what?

Does anybody have a phone booth they'd like to donate?

That "spoiled rich boy" has succeeded alot in life.

A lot of people could succeed with a $1 million loan from Dad. Not to mention the $100 million he inherited. From what I've read he would have made more if it had all been invested in a stock index fund.

"He's the definition of success in life"

When you can boast that you could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and not lose any followers, he's certainly succeeded in cowing you.

BOAZ

"He's the definition of success in life,"

Success is defined by standards. By your definition Al Capone was also a success in life. He reached the pinnacle of his career. How he ended up, of course, blows a hole in that success theory.

Donald J. Trump's legacy as a success is fast losing steam.

He's the definition of success in life...

Why? Because he's rich? Because he fooled millions into believing that he's competent?
He's a horrible human being, to me, that is a more important goal in life than monetary wealth.
To me, he's the definition of failure. Given every blessing and opportunity that a person could wish for, he became a horror. At least Mother Teresa or Catrine Drexel had enough conscience to try to atone.

It's impossible to see Trump as a success in life when there are hoards of people he's hurt gathering together to hopefully see him burned at the stake.

I can visualize the cartoons now. Flames leaping upward while Trump screams "But I'm a success."

He's not a success, there are just millions of people who concentrate their time on posting their opinions of him. Being the POTUS is no longer success, I guess. Just more evidence of Liberals trivializing America's achievements and positives made in the world. Let's not talk about how many people are successful because of this country and how many have been since our existence. Instead, let's just make America out to be the worst place that ever existed. And when people tell us to move, we will make all kinds of excuses as to why personal responsibility is not our problem.

I always thought happiness was the biggest measure of success. In that case Trump is batting around 0.025

#20 | Posted by truthhurts at 2018-03-02 12:31 PM | Reply

TRUTH

I've known a lot of very wealthy people in my career and always wondered why they were not happy. Finally it was explained to me by one of them. He said he spent half of his life accumulating great wealth and the other half worried sick about how to hang onto it.

Of course there was a lot more eating at him than that but wealth was the root of it all.

"He's (Trump) not a success"

He's a positive liability to this country, a running sore.
