Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, February 22, 2018

Last November, a 74-year-old rancher and attorney was walking around his ranch just south of Encinal, Texas, when he happened upon a small portable camera strapped approximately eight feet high onto a mesquite tree near his son's home. The camera was encased in green plastic and had a transmitting antenna. Not knowing what it was or how it got there, Ricardo Palacios removed it.

Good article. It is also interesting to see how the government officers address people who challenge them. This isn't like Bundy - this is an ordinary citizen not trespassing on government property and using it as if he owned it. This is a private citizen who doesn't want to be bothered, spied upon or his property violated. Given he is 35 miles from the border at least it sounds like the government is in the wrong.

Interesting how the government is addressing, or should I say failing to address, the issues of borders and imposing upon citizens and private property.

I am glad I don't live near the Mexico border, however I do live within 100 miles of the Canada border and often go with in 25 miles. What a joke honestly because that means all my they can stop and detain me without reason and search my property and electronics and question me as well. Think about it - do you live near Mexico, Canada, the coast? Much of the most populated parts of the country fall in this zone. Something needs to be done to address that 'exception'.

Looks like the Border Patrol thinks they can go anywhere and do anything on anyone's property "in the name of national security" without bothering to get warrants or inform the property owner.

The rancher should set up the camera near a steeple chase race in Mexico, then turn it back on. I would love to be a fly on the wall when the feds see a thousand latinos run pass the camera climbing walls and running through water. Or better yet, set it up next to a Mexican military parade so it looks like an invasion.

If they ever start building the Great Wall of Humpy Trumpy I bet know I know who's property is going right to the top of the list.
