Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, February 18, 2018

Facebook's Goldman stated that sowing chaos, not electing Trump, was Russia's primary intent in infiltrating American social media networks. "Most of the coverage of Russian meddling involves their attempt to effect the outcome of the 2016 U.S. election. I have seen all of the Russian ads and I can say very definitively that swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal," he wrote on Twitter. To prove his point, he referenced an anti-Islam protest in Houston in November 2017. Russian trolls were later shown to have organized both sides of the protest.

Ridiculously dysfunctional statement -- if Putin ever comes to a sudden stop, Trump's fat orange head is going straight up Putin's ass.

And when it comes to chaos, it's not like right-wingers ever sat benignly and acted in America's best interests ...

Quick google search on Rush Limbaugh's 'Operation Chaos' shows people like you revel in dividing Americans.

It's not a hoax.

Russia, at Putin's direction, meddled in our presidential election.

After months of denial, Trump is finally admitting the truth. Now Trump is obviously trying to change the narrative ...

Donald Trump is an incompetent lying douchebag.

Why are you guys supporting the Russians?

Saying that this is not your President, calling people who support him names all this is exactly what the Russians want.

Why do you hate the United States of America?

Forget it.

I will not support the traitor-in-chief that won't enact sanctions, still can't utter a harsh word about Putin or what the Russians have done, continues to defame the FBI.

I will not be a traitor.

Look who finally caught up -- normal thinking people (aka, non Trump voters) knew Russia was messing with our election, and that Putin was playing Trump for a sucker all along. Since before the election. Since Trump said aloud for Russians to mess with Hillary.

I support Trump like I support law enforcement ... please do your job, and don't kill me in the process.

The problem is Trump is a complete moron, voted for by morons like you two -------------.

Why are you wrecking America?

Watch out, SAWDUST. Honesty is dangerous territory. If you concede that the Russians are a threat then you concede Trump has been acting like a traitor.

Nonsense.

We are in an active Information War. Time to grow up Mr Dust. You are being manipulated. We all are.

The Zone is being flooded with misinformation. Our country is being divided against itself.

Why is our president more worried about his own skin than what is happening to our country?

Why is the President aiding and abetting the Russians in their attack on our Democratic institutions?

Clapper Calls Facebook Official's Post That Trump Touted 'False'
www.bloomberg.com

...Former U.S. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper contradicted a tweet from a Facebook Inc. executive that said swaying the 2016 election wasn't the main aim of Russian interference outlined in a new indictment.

"Clearly the Russians were trying to affect the election," Clapper, who served under President Barack Obama, said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday. He said the notion was supported by both intelligence at the time and the indictment unsealed Friday by Special Counsel Robert Mueller against 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities.

Rob Goldman, Facebook's vice president of ad sales, tweeted Friday that "swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal" -- prompting President Donald Trump to retweet the message the next day to back his claim that Russian meddling didn't affect the results of the election. The Russians' aim was to help Trump and hurt his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, as well as to sow discord, according to the indictment.

"Never before have we seen an effort like this mounted by the Russians," said Clapper, who described an "ambient level" of attempts at interference by Russia and the Soviet Union going back to the 1960s and more activity in 2015 and 2016. "The multidimensional nature of it and its aggressiveness and directness: This was unprecedented," he said....

ZED per #14.

I believe both positions are true.

The Russians meddled in the election. Everyone knows that. Even Obama told Putin to "cut it out".

The "hoax" is that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians and that what the Russians did actually impacted the election.

BTW - as to the subject of this thread, this is directly from the indictment of the 13 Russians:

Object of the Conspiracy
28. The conspiracy had as its object impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful governmental functions fo the United States by dishonest means in order to enable the Defendants to interfere with U.S. political and electoral processes, including the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The "hoax" is that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians ...

People like you used to say that Russian collusion was a hoax.

Now that is obvious BS, so you are saying that Trump campaign participation in Russian collusion is a hoax.

Before long, you'll be admitting that Trump campaign collusion is real, but Trump's participation is a hoax.

Then we'll probably find out Trump actively participated.

You're the one sowing chaos by defending a president who ignores an attack on the United States and won't implement sanctions on the attacker passed by Congress. If you start defending your country instead of defending Trump we can find common ground.

RCADE, I doubt that you can find where I said there was no Russian meddling.

Everyone knows they meddle. They have been doing it since they were the USSR.

I do however believe there was no collusion by Trump.

So does Mueller. That is why he has moved on to Perjury traps for Trump and associates.

If Mueller was truly interested in collusion with the Russians he would be investigating Hillary and the DNC.

You should also watch for Flynn to withdraw his plea as Mueller did not follow the rules when he tricked Flynn into this.

The new judge on that case is wise to the deceptive tactics Mueller and his crew have used in the past.

I do however believe there was no collusion by Trump.

If you believe there was no collusion by the entire Trump campaign, you're ignoring a growing stack of evidence and indictments.

When you call any of this a "hoax," that's dumb as hell. Everybody knows there has been some serious criminal activity tied to Russian interference. Even you.

So does Mueller. That is why he has moved on to Perjury traps for Trump and associates.

On what basis could you possibly claim that Mueller has "moved on"? Just because he announces some indictments first doesn't mean everybody else is in the clear. He's getting small fish to testify against bigger fish.

You should also watch for Flynn to withdraw his plea as Mueller did not follow the rules when he tricked Flynn into this.

This is a ludicrous prediction. You don't get what's happening here. Federal law is the sun. Mueller is a magnifying glass. Flynn and his son are bugs.
