Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The U.S. Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden is not a fan of President Trump's call for a military parade in Washington, and he made his opinion clear on the commander-in-chief's favorite social media forum. "A military parade is third world bulls---," O'Neill tweeted. "We prepare. We deter. We fight. Stop this conversation." When a user pointed out that France and Russia conduct military parades, O'Neill replied: "Yes. Third World. If Russia or France were powerful enough to take over the world, they would. We are yet we don't. That's called First World."

Gee, it's too bad the guy who killed Bin Laden is so unpatriotic and un-American! Why doesn't he love our country?

I agree with him.

And I've met this guy.......he gave a speech and I was able to meet him personally. Not a great speaker but awesome 1 on 1.

Trump is trying to prove he loves the military and the country, but he's the one who took 5 deferments and referred to his dating escapades and trying to avoid getting a venereal disease as his "Vietnam". If he really loved the military and the country, he should have served when called. Barring that he should have kept his big mouth shut and not degraded the service of others with his mocking comments.

Third World. If Russia or France were powerful enough to take over the world, they would. We are yet we don't. That's called First World.

Why would Russia or France try and take over the world? What is the point of "taking over the world"? Who needs the grief?

And someone ought to tell this high school drop-out .... First World, Second World and Third World are Cold War classifications. They have nothing to do with a countries economy or military power.

First World was USA and allies.... aka "The West".

Second World was Russia and it's allies... the communist "Soviet Bloc" or "Warsaw Pact".

Third World were the "Non Allied Nations", who weren't NATO or Soviet Bloc.

Stop this conversation.

Or what? You'll shoot up a mall?

"We prepare. We deter. We fight."

And then "you lose".

And you're right about the parade thing, BTW. I wouldn't be thumping my chest if I didn't have anything to show for it.

Hey ------.. Have you heard the news?

OSAMA BIN LADEN IS STILL DEAD!!!

Apparently we snuck into your country in the dead of night and killed him right under your noses.

Apparently we should have had a parade then. But, apparently we didn't want to rub Pakistan's nose in it's own dung.

Apparently we thought Pakistan was our ally.

Apparently we were wrong.

Apparently.

Hey ------..

You talking to ME??? I'm not....

Well, in case you are....

Apparently we snuck into your country in the dead of night and killed him right under your noses.

First of all nobody needs to "sneak into" Texas (my country).

But it seems you are talking of Pakistan... well, there is more than one AMERICAN source that says, Osama (an Arab, a people Pakistanis have a disdain for) was sold to the US and they let him get taken out by removing all his guards for one night.

And ever wonder how the US wants Haqqani dead even worse than they wanted Bin Ladin dead... but they can't get permission from Pakistan to take him out too? They've wanted him dead for many many years... he's the single reason why USA is losing in Afghanistan.

But the poor saps can't "sneak into Pakistan".

They would if they could. But they can't.

Simple answer is, they didn't sneak into Pakistan the first time either.. they were let in. For 4.7 Billion dollars (Russian source).

However, Al-Qaeda can sneak into the US and bang into buildings any time it wants. Apparently.

we thought Pakistan was our ally.

Pakistan was the best ally American money could rent.

The various countries that hold parades, hold them on days they are PROUD OF.

Get it?

Bastille Day for France.

Birthday of Kim Il Sung for Norkistan.

WW2 anniversary for China.

Victory Day (WW2) for Russia.

23rd March for Pakistan (when they signed some paper to get rid of the British for good).

Republic Day for India (26 January).

etc etc

What day/occasion is the US going to use for a REGULAR excuse for a parade?

Birthday of Elvis? Chappaquiddick? Trump's birthday? Watergate anniversary?

Military Times poll: Majority oppose Trump's military parade

The publication, an independent news source that covers the armed forces for service members and their families, published the results of its poll, which was launched on its website Wednesday. The poll asked readers, "Should there be a parade showing troops and military equipment in Washington, D.C.?"

Eighty-nine percent of Military Times readers responded with, "No, it's a waste of money and troops are too busy."

Just 11 percent responded by answering, "Yes, it's a great opportunity to show off U.S. military might."

The publication noted that more than 51,000 readers had voted in the poll as of Thursday afternoon.

#9 It's nice to know most active duty military aren't like the average DR veteran with a small sense of their own manhood and a huge chip on their shoulder because of it.

If the name is not taken, they can call it a Pride Parade.

Blah blah blah...

Terrorist don't have to sneak into Pakistan (your country).

They are from there.

Terrorist don't have to sneak into Pakistan (your country).

So says Trump .... and his worshipers (look in the mirror).

Meanwhile this what the State Dept says:

The State Department's second-in-command said the US "continues to value its relationship" with Pakistan and "recognises the benefits of cooperation".

"Pakistan has played an important role in pushing al Qaeda closer to defeat, combating ISIS, securing its nuclear weapons, hosting Afghan refugees, and, importantly, providing access for supplies and equipment used by US and Afghan forces.

#13 | Posted by J_Tremain, As Churchill said of the people living in that area, "You can not buy their loyalty, but you can rent it". Why not admit we pay for the Packistani's cooperation, to the tune of a couple of billion every year.

BTW Afghans fighting to free their country from the US invasion/occupation and free themselves from the American installed corrupt puppet regime are ... technically... "freedom fighters" not terrorists.

We Americans are the bad guys here according to most definitions.

Osama is dead... why are we still in Afghanistan???

That is exactly what we do... or did.

But what has any of this got to do with Dotard's stoopid parade?

23rd March for Pakistan (when they signed some paper to get rid of the British for good)

And yet Pakistan is still in the Commonwealth, lol.

America has the fourth of July.

We don't need another massive and costly military parade just to make little donny happy.

Veteran's Day has parades and July 4th has parades. Both honoring the fallen and the veterans, not the tanks and nukes and ------- leaders as implied by "military parade." Christ, he would have avoided all this controversy if he simply had phrased it as a "really big Veteran's parade."

And yet Pakistan is still in the Commonwealth, lol.

So are over 50 other countries where the British once ruled. And one country where the British were never in.

Being part of the Commonwealth doesn't mean the British are in-charge. It just means that Pakistanis behave like "discount englishmen" and cultural ties are retained.

The added advantage for the US is that whenever the US wants something from Pakistan or India (for example), they go through the British to make it happen and it happens far easier than if they had gone it alone. And it works the other way too.

Keeping the British 'in the loop' is still very very useful.

Anyway, here are some more suggestions about what day America should use for it's national parade:

1. Defeat of Klingon Empire Day

2. Defeat of Crooked Hillary Day

3. Junk Food Day

4. Collapse of Soviet Union Day

5. Completion of Wall Day (make the wall first or you'll look stoopid!)

6. MAGA Day!

Problem is, can this Unfit Orangutan stand straight for 2-3 hours???

How about a Chicken Hawk parade?
Trumpty Dumpty can sit on his wall while noted Chicken Hawks (Cheney, Limbaugh, Hannity being waterboarded) pass in review in tribute to the Chicken Hawk-in-Chief.
