Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, February 05, 2018

The Philadelphia Eagles' flight from last to first ended up with a Lombardi Trophy. In a record-setting shootout between Nick Foles and Tom Brady, the backup quarterback led a pressure-packed 75-yard drive to the winning touchdown, 11 yards to Zach Etrz with 2:21 to go Sunday night. Then a defense that had been shredded throughout the second half made two final stands to win 41-33. Brandon Graham strip-sacked Brady and Derek Barnett recovered, setting up rookie Jake Elliot's 46-yard field goal for an 8-point lead. Then Brady got his team to midfield before his desperation pass fell to the ground in the end zone.

Well.... there's been some pretty good commercials so far, lol. Liked the Doritos rap.

NE has NO pass rush at all; Foles is watching commercials back there. And Tom's lost his best long receiver, so if they come back from this one, it'll really be special.

Foles played great. The lack of pass rush helped. Give Philly's offensive line the MVP.

Tom Brady is a very very good QB ... he showed that when he is pressured, he is probably no better than any other NFL QB. Time to retire Tommy. I hope he doesn't keep playing until he makes a fool of himself.

No one will forget about all those come-backs he pulled off, even though they will forget about the guys that allowed you to have the opportunity to do them (i.e. the offensive line).

#30 | Posted by kudzu at 2018-02-05 08:47 AM | Reply

#30 He makes a lot less errors than most QBs even when under pressure plus he can read defenses like Payton did.

It was an absolute pleasure to watch the Pats go down. What made it even sweeter is that they evidently got a crew of refs who didn't take Kraft's money and a controversial call that went for the Pat's opponent is a big factor in the game. Yep, I have to type that twice because it's so unbelievable. The refs made a call that screwed the Pats. I'm still surprised they didn't put this with the graphic for the records that were broken last night.

And to use the quote of every Pats fan on every comment board when they win...mmmmm, your tears taste so good, mmmm....

Our Sport Ball was awesome to his year. It was a good Game. Even my wifey liked watching it. Living in Fantasyland has it's moments! And that was one of them. And no one kneeled and no one Cared. The outside world was kept outside mostly. Well except Fox News. I thought that was interesting, too. They kept the Fantasy pure.

And I am glad the Eagles 🦅 won.

They earned it and they obviously deserved it.

🏈👏🍻‼️

Tom Brady is a very very good QB ... he showed that when he is pressured, he is probably no better than any other NFL QB.

He threw for 505 yards. While it is true that he's not unbeatable when a defense gets their hands on him, he was pretty close to unbeatable last night.

The total combined yards from both teams was 1,151 yards. That's the most yards two teams have amassed in the entire history of the NFL. How crazy is that?

Ichiro, 0x34 is hexadecimal notation for the number 52, or in Roman numerals LII.
