A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows voters think Republicans have a better plan for jobs and employment than Democrats, by a margin of 37.6 percent to 27.8 percent. The swing in the polling numbers has been matched by a swing in sentiment. A Democratic wave looked all but inevitable two months ago. Some in the party were talking in mid-December about a 40-seat pickup, but a tsunami of that magnitude now looks much less likely. Pollsters now say the environment is looking "much better" for the GOP compared to two months ago. Polling data suggests that Democrats made a tactical mistake by taking a hard stance against the tax bill. It passed the Senate and House without a single Democratic vote in either chamber. "I appears that the Democrats have completely overplayed their hand. When [House Democratic Leader] Nancy Pelosi [Calif.] says $1,000 or $2,000 is ‘crumbs,' people in West Virginia, rural Oregon go, ‘$1000 is a lot of money to me,' " Pollster Greg Walden said.

Well, when everyone is employed and enjoying their beloved tax break, maybe they won't be worrying about their bottom lines any longer. Maybe, just maybe, everyone's attention and concern will focus on the deplorable behavior of the Republican Congress and the White House.

Just maybe. Don't expect me to hold my breath.

LOL.
Both statements are true, but they're presented as opposites.
That's some good marketing right there.

Why argue the dopey horse race?

The nation is still trillions more in debt due to this ridiculously unnecessary tax break that was aimed at corporations already making record profits.

So every time you hit a pot-hole ... every time you complain about your children's and grandchildren's schools ... every time you complain about waiting to see a doctor ... you can thank Republicans who ensured there was no money left in the US Treasury to fix these problems after they looted it for their GOP douchebag billionaire campaign donors.

These are the same voters who buh-lieve they just got a significant tax cut. After April 15th, that delusion will dissipate.... in plenty of time for the elections.

If you live in California, blame Jerry Moonbeam and the Sacramento Space Cadets.

Not if you're in San Diego. Had San Diegans voted to build Spanos his billion dollar stadium, there would have been NO money left for pot-holes, which is a big issue here. Just ask anybody around here; the stadium would have drained the coffers responsible for pot-hole repair, at least that's what we were told by our ------- mayor. So we voted against the stadium and lo and behold, pot-holes remain unfixed.

Never under estimate the stupidity of the American public.

The GOP never does, why else do you that no they structured the tax "reform" bill the way they did.

So you got suckered into letting the Chargers go on the promise that your potholes would be fixed and then they screwed you. Now you have both potholes and no team and the revenues associated with it. Sounds like LA in the 90's. The Whales Vagina has always been trying to emulate LA, just a couple of decades later.

Nicely done.

I just hope Pelosi keeps talking about Crumbs.

She is one of the best things the Repubs have going for them.
