Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, February 01, 2018

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday expressed regret for not having fired a senior adviser on her 2008 presidential campaign who was accused of repeatedly sexually harassing a young subordinate. In a lengthy Facebook post, the Democrat sought to explain her decision to deliver a less severe punishment to Burns Strider, who was her faith adviser, despite a recommendation from her campaign manager that Strider be fired. ... "I did this because I didn't think firing him was the best solution to the problem," Clinton said. "He needed to be punished, change his behavior, and understand why his actions were wrong. The young woman needed to be able to thrive and feel safe. I thought both could happen without him losing his job."

If she just went away I could see your point, but she was just on the Grammy's reading to people about Trump, she's making a comeback..

In fact it was a front page thread.

"The short answer is this: If I had it to do again, knowing it would be found out, I wouldn't."

Fixed that for ya hillary.

That being said, she still hasn't apologized.

Apparently the WSJ, Chicago Tribune, WaPo, NBC, Fortune, Slate, NY Times, CNN, Fox News, Brisbane Times, Daily Beast, The Guardian, Washington Examiner, the BBC, and many, many other news outlets.

Who cares? how about a hell of a lot of woman who voted for hillary because they thought a woman president would care more about woman then a male would, you know issues like sexual harassment at work.

It seems hillary had behaved like many men have in the past and tried to brush off the issue

"tried to brush off the issue"

Not true. It was investigated and he was punished.

Today we accept the punishment is a life sentence without parole, but that wasn't true for most crimes before the fallout of the October 2017 article by the NYT outlining the crimes of Harvey Weinstein.

Now she says she would have taken a different approach. Good. #MeToo is working to make these accusations lead to permanent removal from society. Maybe we will send all men to Guantanamo soon.

Hillary does/feels/says whatever is politically convenient for her at any given time. Only time she shed the political hackery was when she called the deplorables deplorable. I still comend her for that, but I wish she'd stop throwing wrenches.

I don't want to bag on her but I have zero reason to believe this is anything other than political pandering.

"Hillary regrets nothing except marrying Bill."

Hardly. She wouldn't be anywhere without him.

From the summary:

Hillary: "He needed to be punished, change his behavior, and understand why his actions were wrong. The young woman needed to be able to thrive and feel safe. I thought both could happen without him losing his job."

That seems reasonable. The spectrum of abuse is quite wide and one punishment for all crimes is not sustainable, there will be backlash.

Another if I coulda, woulda, shoulda moment.

You know what made Obama different?

The tendency to try to do the right thing regardless if anyone was looking. As it turns out, everyone eventually looks.

That's why everyone is clamoring to be Obama-like etc.

"Clinton said on Facebook that the woman's complaint was taken seriously and that she decided on a more lenient punishment, which included demoting Strider, docking his pay and separating him from the woman, as well as putting in place "technical barriers to his emailing her." Strider was also warned that any subsequent harassment would result in immediate termination, Clinton wrote.

"I did this because I didn't think firing him was the best solution to the problem," Clinton said. "He needed to be punished, change his behavior, and understand why his actions were wrong. The young woman needed to be able to thrive and feel safe. I thought both could happen without him losing his job."

Clinton said that she also believes in "second chances.""

Every Trumpeteer here has a question to answer about the Groper in Chief before they try to attack others on this subject.

Like if we knew all this we'd have president Sanders right now. Oh well, presidential elections come every 4 years at least.

"separating him from the woman"

She was reassigned and Strider remained spiritual advisor. This is from 2008 and it's on her. Trump should not be part of this particular discussion.
