The White House will release a legislative framework for immigration reform Monday, just ten days before the government shutdown stopgap fix ends on Feb. 8. Democrats voted for the stopgap with the promise from Republicans that they would negotiate DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which allows immigrants who were brought to America illegally as children a potential path to citizenship.

White House Press Release: Last fall, the White House sent Congress a list of the core reforms necessary to fix our immigration system. These reforms were assembled in coordination with frontline law enforcement officers and career public servants who know what is necessary to keep America safe. Since that time, President Donald J. Trump and his Administration have hosted dozens of meetings with Republican and Democrat leadership and rank-and-file members of the House and Senate to discuss these reforms and find a bipartisan path forward. Based on these negotiations, the White House will release a legislative framework on Monday that represents a compromise that members of both parties can support. We encourage the Senate to bring it to the floor. This framework will fulfill the four agreed-upon pillars: securing the border and closing legal loopholes; ending extended-family chain migration; cancelling the visa lottery, and providing a permanent solution on DACA. After decades of inaction by Congress, it's time we work together to solve this issue once and for all. The American people deserve no less.

Anytime the White House says they're going to release a plan on a date certain, in this case "Monday," I've learned to ask myself OK, which Monday of what year."

Their announcements never seem to include a plan for follow through.

Chain migration = family reunification. Trump and his immigrant hating cohorts want to break up families, that isn't over the top, that's simply reality. We read about one story a day lately of them accomplishing that goal. Yesterday is was the Polish Doctor here since he was a little kid, who doesn't speak Polish, being deported to Poland while his wife and kids stay here. How is that improving America? What good will that accomplish? Why do it? He even had a permanent green card but he committed a misdemeanor when he was a teenager? This is psychosis, it is xenophobic sickness and we should all be angry about it. This is not America.

I know I won't be standing for the national anthem as long as these are our policies. I am truly disgusted by the actions our government is taking under Trump.

Illegal migrants chose to break up their families. They can choose to reunify by going home. Nothing is stopping them.

Ah yes, once again we find the subject of agreement between extreme liberals and extreme conservatives. However, both are wrong and are not consulted by facts.

1) illegal immigration is a necessary component of our modern economy.

2) no one wants to admit it out loud.

And nothing of value comes by preventing them from reunification here in the United States as we have done for over two centuries. Who benefits from preventing them from unifying their families here? Nulli's view is just mean and doesn't really benefit anyone. I guess he's just a bitter old man who can't stand to see people be happy.

- Illegal migrants chose to break up their families.

A difficult decision for most who lived in poverty and tyranny.

- They can choose to reunify by going home. Nothing is stopping them.

Nothing except for said poverty and tyranny.

Not that some people care about that.

The first impulse of "conservatives" for any problem is to find someone to punish. It's that Calvinist/Puritan distortion of the Pilgrims that everything but prayer is sin and always looking for someone to punish whenever anything went wrong (which got them "kicked out" of Europe). Witch burnings, anyone? It's all about rules. Minorities must be punished for not being white, women must be punished 'cause Eve, gays -- forget about it. Everything is about strength, nothing about kindness or love. They worship a very different Jesus than the one I know.

I know its a long shot, but I hope they are deporting conservatives to make room for immigrants that will love this country, appreciate our values, and contribute positively to GDP and culture.

And DACA? What choice did those kids have?

So when is Trump tearing down the Statute of Liberty by the way?
