President Trump said Wednesday that he plans to speak with special counsel Robert Mueller, laying the groundwork for a high-stakes meeting that could shape the course of the Russia investigation. "I'm looking forward to it," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked whether he would submit to questioning by Mueller's team. "I would do it under oath," he added.

He also said he would be willing to answer questions under oath, but not until after asking whether Hillary Clinton, his 2016 campaign rival, has spoken under oath to the F.B.I. in the investigation into her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state, according to the New York Times. Mrs. Clinton gave a voluntary interview to investigators in July 2016.

Sure, he says that today... tomorrow it will be, "Mommy!".

He's SO precious. Not until he asks if Hillary was under oath, too!

Like an emotionally-challenged 5 year old.

As VIPs are often interviewed last in these types of situations, maybe this whole burger is getting wrapped soon.

President Who Told 2,000 Lies During First Year Thinks He'll Survive A Mueller Interview

The question likely isn't whether Trump will lie under oath during his interview with Robert Mueller. Instead, it's how many lies will the president tell.

This will be fun to watch unfold. He may be willing to be under oath but his lawyers will invoke Executive Privilege on more than half the questions.

He "said" he's willing. He's said a lot of things that he turned around on. Why trust him now? How about those tax returns?

Ty Cobb, the White House lawyer leading the response to the Russia investigation, told the New York Times that President Trump "was speaking hurriedly and intended only to say that he was willing to meet" with special counsel Robert Mueller and not necessarily be interviewed under oath.

Come on, Ty. Let BLOTUS have his say.

It's put up or shut up time for him now. This needs to be put to rest. And what happened to "lock her up"?

Hillary testified under oath to Congress for 11 hours, btw. And they never laid a glove on her.

Trump should have such balls.

Hillary's testimony was an after-the-fact joke. Her exoneration was written well before she was even interviewed.

So the Republican congress gave Hillary a pass while pretending to question her under oath?

JeffJ's statement was in regards to the topic of this thread, not the Benghazi farce. Here's the actual line discussing it in the actual article which you either couldn't read or couldn't understand:
"Hillary Clinton, his 2016 campaign rival, has spoken under oath to the F.B.I. in the investigation into her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state. Mrs. Clinton gave a voluntary interview to investigators in July 2016. "

We know that because he even stressed the word "matter". Comey says AG Loretta Lynch wanted Clinton investigation to be called a "matter"

So not only are you ignorant of the conversation going on, you're also ignorant of the very facts surrounding it. I've asked you numerous times to please stop displaying your ignorance so openly. The articles are linked to here for you to read and try to understand. Why is that too hard for you?

"Trump surprises his lawyers and alarms his friends by saying he will talk with Mueller"

Trump's remarks took White House officials by surprise and came as his lawyers were negotiating with Mueller's team on a potential interview. The president's lawyers have repeatedly encouraged him not to post tweets or make comments about the investigation without their knowledge, saying such comments could damage him."

Some are saying that by shouting his big mouth off, Trump has now volunteered to testify before a grand jury, since that is how under oath testimony is taken (Hillary didn't appear before a grand jury but Bill did). Trump videotaped (as Bill was) under oath before a grand jury would be fun to watch. Much popcorn would be needed.

Does it hurt being that stupid? Serious question.

The reason Hillary didn't go under oath at the FBI or at the Congressional hearings is because she didn't have to. Going under oath only makes it a crime to lie. But its ALREADY a crime to lie to the FBI or to Congress.

Why can't Conservatives read? I don't get it.

What makes the difference if Trump is under oath or not? The penalty is the same.

His lawyers are more concerned with Trump's diarrhea of the mouth.
