Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, January 11, 2018

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens admitted to an extramarital affair this evening after the ex-husband of his mistress went public with a secret recording of her admitting to the affair. The unnamed woman who did not know she was being recorded claimed to have met Greitens when she cut his hair. She eventually had a short lived sexual relationship with him. She also is heard saying that Greitens bound her, took nude photos of her without her permission and threatened her to put them on the internet if she told anyone about the relationship. Greitens did not address the blackmail allegation when he admitted to the relationship.

Must be those Republican Family Values that they brag about so much.

Anyone might have affair, few would blackmail their girlfriend.

I see the GOP has their new 2020 Presidential nominee!

And Al Franken resigned?

This is not being brought by the woman. She wants nothing to do with this. This is only being brought by the hurt man in this? And he recorded her without her knowledge? Isnt that a crime?

And just like I said about Bill Clinton, with this guy, if his wife has moved on and they stayed married, why are we talking about this again?

I think this is a nothing burger...

I'm not sure you understand the meaning of that phrase.

"And just like I said about Bill Clinton, with this guy, if his wife has moved on and they stayed married, why are we talking about this again?"

Al Franken is still married to his wife and is Rep. Conyers. Where is this guy's resignation?

The R behind his name makes it one.

It's not about the affair. It's about this allegation:

"She also is heard saying that Greitens bound her, took nude photos of her without her permission and threatened her to put them on the internet if she told anyone about the relationship. Greitens did not address the blackmail allegation when he admitted to the relationship."

The governor's wife may be okay with this behavior, but, if true, his constituents might not be.

Sen. Franken (wrongly) cops a feel, and he is forced to resign. Republican governor bones his hairdresser, takes nude photos of her, and blackmails her, and he keeps on keeping on. That Republican Family Values for you.

Good thing he switched to Republican in 2015. Extramarital affairs and other "family values" are strengths in that party. This is a man with foresight.

Missouri, as well as most states, is a one-party consent state so is is not required that you inform the other party that you are recording the conversation.

You clearly didn't read the article. If you had then you would know that in regards to the affair the ex-husband agrees with you on that matter. The issue is the Missouri governor may have blackmailed someone.

The reason he went public with the recording is because law enforcement officials as well as several members of the media have contacted him in regard to the matter, including someone leaving a voicemail on his daughter's phone about it.

Binding and blindfolding your employee, taking nude photos of them while they are bound and blindfolded, threatening blackmail, then forcing them into having sex afterward....

I may guess that Eric left these things out when he discussed it with Sheena.

Good thing he switched to Republican in 2015.

Excellent point, he was a registered Democrat when he had the affair and allegedly blackmailed his mistress.

All this shows is that creeps have no allegiances to anyone other than themselves, as evidenced by our POTUS.

Donnie used to be a Dem too.

Sociopaths only care about themselves.

We should ask ourselves why Republicans seem to be accepting of these predators while Dems are trying to weed them out.

Because the GOP is rightfully afraid they will lose their majority, and the Dems who are getting weeded out are in safe seats.

Don't kid yourself, they are no different in this kind of situation, its all about keeping power.

Yes, that's why there was a line of democrats demanding Al Franken resign.

Must be a Republican, they love saying that whenever one of their own is caught in corruption but wants to remain in office.

He likes to say it when he's talking politics with one of my mom's extremely liberal siblings. They completely agree with him.

Now it is being report that prosecutors in St. Louis have launched an investigation into Greitens behavior. It was also revealed that the woman alleged that Greitens assaulted (slapped) her after she told him she had sex with her husband. This incident reportedly happened when they encountered each other at a Hospital while Greitens wife was giving birth.

This is the 2nd investigation launched within the past month involving the Governor who just completed his first year in office. The Mo. AG's office launched an investigation into violations of state record keeping laws after it was learned that Greitens and members of his administration have been using a message app that deletes messages after they are read for communicating state business.

With him being a Republican, I would normally say Greitens has some cover in Missouri but he is not well liked by many in his own party. He only joined the party when he decided to run for office and since elected he has started a dark money funded non-profit that has attacked other republicans who disagree with him on his major priorities.

Something your Orange Fuhrer would do well to emulate.
