Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, January 05, 2018

The winner of a crucial Virginia House of Delegates race was decided for the GOP candidate by a drawing Thursday after judges rejected the Democratic candidate's challenge of a vote that could have broken a tie. Republican incumbent David Yancey was the victor after a small canister holding a slip of paper with his name was drawn from a ceramic bowl. Yancey claims the 94th district seat in Newport News, and the GOP will retain its majority by 51-49.

The people have spoken. The new Blue Gov has been negated. All is right again with the Universe as we know it.

Trounces? A name picked out of a hat is no victory. It's luck.

Yancy needs to set the new standard for Democrats, appeal the judges decision fight this travesty tooth and nail just like Republicans do. I never want to see another Democrat concede any election when there is any chance there was tampering, voter suppression or any other form of cheating. Since Al Gore didn't contest the 2000 elections Democrats have made is an art form to bow out gracefully and it is sickening.

BTW Al Franken is the latest example of this phenomenon.

Or, she could just go away into the woods like Hillary, and accept her beating like a m--, uh, politician.

By the way, the losing Democrat's name was Shelly Simonds.

Please, you are only saying this because the otherside won. If it was a D drawn, this would be on the front page of the NYT with in depth coverage of BS on how America is becoming less racist, less homeless, and more intelligent by this one draw of the hat.

I don't have a problem with this in principle, but its become the cry of every Democrat when they lose, its tiresome .....

No I'm saying it because it's true. You can live in fantasy land and call it a trouncing but it was a 50/50 chance drawing . Luck!

And in reality the ballot that tied it should not have been counted. If you can't fill out the ballot correctly it shouldn't be counted.

Perfect example, Hillary should have been screaming about a stolen election and Interstate Crosscheck. Another Democrat with no spine.

Hold on there Andrea, the Republican did exactyly what I say Democrats should do, he challenged her victory when she won the election and ended up back in office. Was it tiresome when he challenged? NO, it's only "tiresome" when Democrats do it and Democrats are so PC that they generally don't want to be tiresome. It's pathetic.

Whose idea was the fish bowl?
She should have stuck with the coin toss. Some cow won all the coin tosses against Bernie in the primaries.

As there should be. The democratic process should not end up in a coin toss. If there is a tied election then have another election. Oh wait, the governing party doesn't want to offer the opposition an opportunity to allow democracy to work. It is ridiculous to allow a coin toss or the a slip of paper to decide who would represent the voters.

Aren't we here today because the Republicans cried and stomped their feet? Now SHE has a right to a recount.

She should exercise that right.

Not so fast there Preacher...

But the drawing may not be the end of it. On Wednesday, Yancey declined an offer from Simonds to make the drawing final, so Simonds had promised that "all options are on the table" if she lost. Simonds, who attended the drawing, did not say whether she would seek a recount or court challenge.

Also, Dems just need to stop playing pussyfoot with the -----.

They are using a scorched earth policy while we still use manners and and professional courtesy. Forget it. Use every weapon in the arsenal.

Just like they do.

THEN we will see what God's Will really is.
