Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Donald Trump's latest judiciary nominee has withdrawn his name after failing to answer basic legal questions at his Senate confirmation hearing. Video of Matthew Petersen's embarrassing encounter went viral. "It has become clear to me over the last few days that my nomination has become a distraction," Petersen wrote in a letter. Petersen was nominated as a federal judge in the District of Columbia. Trump had accepted his offer to withdraw, the White House said.

It has become clear to me that whoever nominated this completely, stunningly, staggeringly, infuriatingly, repugnantly, insultingly, obviously, cynically unqualified meat-suit to be a Federal Judge must be relieved of that duty post haste.

"Only the best people"

He probably complimented Trump on his suit the morning he was nominated.

I don't blame Petersen. He took a shot at the brass ring.

Trump probably used those magic words "Trust me."

"Trust me" is the harbinger of doom in Trump's limited vocabulary.

It's not uncommon among used car salesmen either.

Trump would not be appointing so many judges if Mitch McConnell had allowed Obama's appointees to have their hearings in the Senate but, of course, he didn't let them because to Republicans it's about power all the time. Mitch McConnell is a piece or crap who harms the United States every day he serves in office. He knows it, he's proud of it. Republicans know it, they are proud of it. Because to them it isn't about justice, it's about power.

He didn't know what a Motion in Limine or the Daubert decision was... Like really really basic stuff.

Trump nominates only the best.
