Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump, minutes before heading to speak at the FBI's National Academy, lashed out at the bureau, saying "it's a shame what's happened with the FBI" and claiming there are "a lot of very angry people that are seeing it." Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn, Trump said, "We're going to rebuild the FBI" after what he described as "really, really disgraceful" documents. He appeared to be referring to text messages the Justice Department provided Congress this week in which a senior agent described candidate Trump as an "idiot" and made other political remarks in the course of the presidential campaign.

Trump's comments are the latest in a barrage of criticism he has directed at the FBI. Earlier this month, he declared on Twitter that the bureau's reputation is "in Tatters -- worst in History!"

That assessment came days after special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russia investigation, secured a guilty plea from Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

"With me as your president, America's police will have a true friend and loyal champion in the White House. More loyal that anyone else can be," Trump said. "You very rarely get the recognition you deserve."

On Friday morning, Trump reaffirmed to reporters, "there is absolutely no collusion. I didn't make a phone call to Russia. I have nothing to do with Russia. Everybody knows it. That was a Democrat hoax. It was an excuse for losing the election."

Everyone knows Donald is up to his ears with Russia.

Too bad he didn't offer to pay For N's legal expenses. There's no way the man believes in any pardon.

Blah, blah, blah. I'm so tired of his narcissistic braggadocio. He always has to be/have the biggest and best of this, that and everything. STFU, why don't you?

I'm not sure why Trump is so upset, I mean he IS an idiot, so why be pissed?

... "a lot of very angry people that are seeing it." ...

Outside of his family and some people in his administration, I doubt if anyone is as angry with the FBI as Pres Trump asserts.

Members of his own cabinet have called him an "Idiot" and yet they weren't fired.

Must be a slow Trump news day, that door has been open since before Mueller was appointed.

And how would you feel if he did pardon him?

Is pardoning russian agents who lie to congress part of MAGA? Or do you simply love anything that upsets decent citizens?

Under Hoover, the FBI was a deep state organization. It didn't answer to the political government. It takes suspension of belief to consider the bureaucracy apolitical when it supports one party twenty to one.

I agree that is frustrating and even dangerous that most of the FBI is so conservative and obviously supported Tump during the elections. After all it was literally called TrumpLand

You remember TrumpLand don't you?

The leadership in the FBI has tried keep the FBI independent. The 10 year limited appt of the Director directly addresses this issue. And the President can still fire him at any time.

But, this deep state" as you and Trump TV call it, are just career civil servants that for historic reasons don't change just because the administration does.

Anyway. No worries Comrade 😉. Trump is gonna rebuild the tattered FBI and make BIGGER and better than ever!

Shouldn't the FBI support the law, and go after lawbreakers, a bit more than 20 to 1?
Blacks have more criminal convictions, which you use to justify more policing in "crime ridden" areas.
Try applying that logic to the Executive Branch, okay?
Just... try.

Flynn's deal with Mueller isn't great and has left open being charged with a variety of other crimes. He should BEG Drumpf not to pardon him because he can still be charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping by the NY AG, and Drumpf's pardon power could not help Flynn there. Mueller is playing 3 dimensional chess at every point, even with the the timing of indictments and what he's been charging. He is circling in on the conspiracy with the Russians but keeping his cards close to the vest. He is teaching a master class, and other prosecutors should be watching closely. He also appears to be waiting for close to the 2018 mid-terms, because as a panel of former USAs on MSNBC said last night, he likely won't try to indict a sitting President, but he can sure as hell indict him after he's been impeached. The Russians had their thumb on the scan in 2016 and gave us Drumpf, now the scales will be leveled with the investigation in 2018 as a majority of people want Drumpf gone, and this is how to get it done.

Yes, containing Trump is going to take political will, which means Dems have to make gains in the 2018 elections and that means people have to vote.

"You remember TrumpLand don't you?"

I remember Rudy saying current and former FBI agents tipped him off that an October surprise was coming that would take Hillary down. Someone needs to look into that.
