Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Embattled Secretary of State Rex Tillerson appeared to contradict President Trump on Monday, telling dozens of U.S. diplomats that Russia deliberately interfered in American "democratic processes." Tillerson, who is reportedly expected to leave his White House post amid growing tensions with the President, made the admission during a town hall-style meeting with career diplomats at the State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Monday morning. ... "Russia chose through hybrid warfare to interfere with democratic processes here, and they've done so in other countries as well," Tillerson, 65, said, referencing the Kremlin's annexation of the Crimea in Ukraine.

It has been reported that Tillerson is already on thin ice with Trump and recent staff to depart the state department have claimed that Tillerson is doing a horrible job leading the organization. Whether or not Trump agrees with Tillerson on this depends on what day you ask Trump. He has at times vacillated between denying it, agreeing with it and claiming that no one knows. This acknowledgement from Tillerson could prove to be the statement that prompts Trump to push him out the door since he could perceive it being an attack on Trump's legitimacy.

Tillerson sucks at everything. Good thing he was in charge of an oil company for so long or else he would be selling happy meals instead of being part of the power group.

Oh no. Tillerson is being fired.

Tillerson tells the truth with the risk to his job that it entails. I've never been a fan but I do respect his truthfulness on Russiagate. He is basically calling Trump a liar.

Whoa. A bit surprising. Rex must be thinking it's time to jump ship.

Tillerson's book will be very revealing.

Secretary of State Sully would have handled this better, by down-playing whatever minimal influence the Russians might conceivably have had.

And it may very well be out in a VERY short time.

Trump is caught in a Chinese finger trap. The more he fights against himself the more he is trapped.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Russia didn't do anything more than what Dems and Reps have been doing for years. It's not illegal and it's part of being a free country and allowing our borders to be open to anyone. This kind of story is just beating a very dead horse. The argument is over whether an American official colluded with Russia to rig the elections, which there has been nothing close to real evidence to prove. The media just keeps the first argument alive to hide the fact that the second argument has no basis and people will start ignoring it if the media were to actually report properly and say it is a non-story. Sure, it may have happened, but there is nothing that has been found that comes close to even putting Trump in line with Putin.

I Love WikiLeaks!': Trump's Acceptance Of Russian Help Hides In Plain Sight

Trump praised the group releasing stolen emails even as he should've known it was an arm of Russian intelligence.

If Donald Trump had trafficked in stolen television sets, he could have gone to jail. But he trafficked in emails stolen by a foreign adversary and went to the Oval Office instead.

Now, with the White House trying to downplay links between the president's campaign and Russian officials, there still remains the biggest unanswered question about the election: Why did Trump enthusiastically praise WikiLeaks on the stump at a time he had access to classified analyses stating that the group was essentially an arm of Russian intelligence?

So is that your final answer?
Because all the trump chumps keep changing their story.
First yall said it was fake news.
Then yall said it was a hillary scheme.
Now yall are saying nothing is wrong with working with our enemies to hack our democracy and win elections.

I'm sure you'd be saying the exact same thing if it was hillary who worked with putin to defeat trump right?

Your mind is so twisted by conservative propaganda that you think colluding with russians is A-OK. YOure a chump, and idiot, and a traitor.

too late. Trump is so polluted by Fox News that he will soon fire Mueller and pardon Flynn. He gave this rambling word salad of an impromptu speech denigrating (again!) thr FBI.

Amazing! If Obama had ever done any of this shizz, Republicans would have been calling for his execution for treason, but because this is Trump, we are supposed to pretend this is the new normal. What a shame for what used to be a model for the world.

Specifically, they'd call for Obama's lynching.
