Lesley Goldberg, Hollywood Reporter: Alec Baldwin is expanding his relationship with ABC. The Disney-owned network is teaming with the Emmy-winning actor for a talk show. The project, which is in development, is based on Baldwin's WNYC radio show/podcast Here's the Thing With Alec Baldwin. Sources stress Baldwin's deal is not completely done -- it has been in the works for weeks -- and additional details remain scarce. Production is slated to begin next week.

I've listened to Mr Baldwin's podcasts.

Interesting, curious, but not engaging.

I wish him the best of success in his fruitless endeavor.

I had trouble taking his podcast seriously. His podcast did not convey a manner of gravitas to me.

There are a lot of places on the web where I can listen to people talking. Mr Baldwin's podcast was not insightful enough to warrant my time.

I prefer to spend my time where I can learn things.

A serious man with serious thoughts.. but he lights up for SNL. Perhaps he needs a foil or partner? Perry Ferrel is passed on, but those strange music conversations with a bandmaster could be more intellectually presented by Henry Rollins. Patton Oswalt might make a fun sidekick on the show with his nerdly views and acerbic wit - elevation to this self-moderated, serious Alec. Or a female co-host like Sarah Silverman who has zero intellectual inhibitions. I don't want an echo chamber, or do I?

#1 - nice link. Learning their sciences takes time, yes.
