Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, December 09, 2017

The head of a prominent conservative group was present last week when a woman who has accused Rep. Trent Franks of asking her to be a surrogate for his child in exchange for $5 million detailed her allegations to House Speaker Paul Ryan's staff. Andrea Lafferty, president of the Traditional Values Coalition, told CNN that the accuser -- a former aide whom she did not name -- said that she was asked to look over a contract to carry Franks' child. If she conceived his child, she would be given $5 million, according to Lafferty.

Franks, an Arizona Republican, announced Thursday that he planned to resign January 31, after the House Ethics Committee said that it would investigate Franks to see if he had taken part in "conduct that constitutes sexual harassment and/or retaliation for opposing sexual harassment." On Friday, Franks said his resignation would take effect immediately.

Catdog, Gal_Tuesday and I nailed it two days ago! www.drudge.com

You just knew there had to be more to it than an innocent discussion of infertility assistance.

Nice try, Trent, you old dog you! Family values, right? Like you, the missus, and the sweet young things in your office?

How about if he's had the big snip? Then he just wanted a free GF.

Nah. That'd be deceitful and out of step with his party.

Congressman to Aides: Can I Impregnate You for Money?

WTF?!?!?!

What has happened to our Congress critters of late?

Congress has been fxxxing the middle class and poor for decades, so the only thing that surprises me is he didn't rape them and then use taxpayer money to pay them off. I guess we haven't quite reached bottom yet.

This should not be compared to sexual harassment, and would never have been, but for the subordinate relationship involved. There are plenty of women willing to carry a baby to term for a sterile couple, for a lot less than $5 million. Franks was just using improper channels to solve this problem.

A pattern has emerged that lumps criminal behaviors with socially offensive behaviors, as if they're the same thing. This is stupid and working to the advantage of many criminal Republican sex offenders. While it is stupid, it fits a much larger pattern of mass media stupid about so many things.

Bay,

While your first paragraph is correct and good, I couldnt give you a NW because of your partisian attack. You had a chance to make a non partisian, good comment, but you had to throw in the "evil" repubs and give your dems a pass, right? Because that's what you did..

I disagree. According to te article, the women received his approach as him asking to have sex with them, and he retaliated when they did not comply. While i don't know the formal definition of harassment, i think this is more than just abusing a manager-subordinate relationship as the women were made to feel sexually uncomfortable.

If one of those aids agreed to have sex for money wouldn't that make the aid a prostitute? And the CONgresscritter her john?

"If she conceived his child, she would be given $5 million, according to Lafferty."

This is why those who aren't already millionaires vote Republican.
For their chance to become millionaires.

None of them collected the $5M because it would have meant having sex with the odious Trent Franks.

There is MUCH more to this story. If not, Franks would not be sprinting out of Congress at the end of the year, and instead would have waited until the end of his term next year.

He's afraid of what the investigation will uncover, and wants to be as far away from Washington as possible. I'm guessing there's more than just talk, he's likely the biggest perv in Congress, it's always the most religiously repressed that are the biggest sickos.
