So, Pinky-poo, your plan didn't work. The Tide is back in contention. Let's review.
1) Last year, the committee picked OSU over conference champion Penn St. Let's not gloss over this fact. The committee giveth and the committee taketh away. Apparently, the conference championship only has symbolic meaning.
2) No one denies that Clemson, Georgia and Oklahoma deserve to be there. How would people feel if the committee picked Bama over Georgia? No, it wouldn't be right. The committee can atone for that mistake last year by keeping OSU out this year. No one thinks they could defeat any of those other three teams, or Alabama.
3) OSU's loss to Iowa was HUGE. The next week after defeating OSU, Iowa went on to lose with 60-something yards of total offense. Everyone with a tiny bit of knowledge knew that OSU was going to defeat Wisconsin, because Wisc. was only undefeated because they played a very weak schedule. Result, OSU is out.
4) Bama's loss to Auburn was ugly too. However, the way Georgia played and with Bama's injuries, Georgia would probably have beaten Alabama in the SEC championship, had Bama gone there. However, it is a month until the CFP games and everyone knows that by that time, Bama will be healed and no one could beat them.
The committee should not pick either team. They should pick the Pac-12 winner USC. Who cares if no one watches the game?
