Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, December 01, 2017

The Russian ruble dropped suddenly against the U.S. dollar on an ABC News report that Michael Flynn will testify that he was directed by Donald Trump to make contact with officials of the country. The dollar gained more than 1.1 percent against the ruble Friday. Flynn also pleaded guilty to knowingly making materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements to FBI agents, a felony.

Here's a chart of the Ruble against the dollar. It's been in a downtrend since 2008.

Markets move for reasons entirely different than what the news headlines claim. Take those with a grain of salt.

Dont flatter yourself. Youre just the only girl left at the bar.

Now that trump is president and russiagate is proceeding, no other conservatives are dumb enough to try and engage in a debate anyore.

This site was a lot more fun when there was more balance between left and right, but to support the right these days you have to be either really stupid or totally insane, neither of which leads to very interesting debates.

Debates with you suck too, but kudos to you for showing up.

It's funny how the right mocks the left for wanting "safe spaces" but they're the ones who can't exist outside their alternative reality bubbles, where bengazi is a bigger deal than russiagate, climate change is a scam, donald trump cares about the working man, and tax cuts for the rich help the poor.

Rcade doesn't allow climate denier bullcrap because it's all bullcrap and it's destructive to the planet. That's not moving to the left, it's simply reality.

The problem with modern repubs is they think reality IS leftist propaganda that they need protection against.

The former poster known as Zarathustra (pbuh) created the Encyclopaedia Dramatica article.

(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
News of this article was brought to the DR's attention by an intrepid EDiot posting as LarryMOAR/Zarathustra, who risked e-life and limb to spread the lulz. The chosen handle differs by only a single letter from the name of a legitimate poster and emulated his writing style, further adding to Drudgetards' confusion. In the end, LarryMOAR paid the ultimate price for injecting a bit of EDiocy into an otherwise ordinary late PM/early AM on the Retort. Fortunately, his other dissociated identity - Zarathustra - lives on to troll another day.
All motions for restraining orders, LOLsuits, claims of libel, as well as requests for endorsement deals and interviews, have been forwarded to LarryMOAR/Zarathustra's e-lawyer, who stated that he was only authorized to release the following statement:

My client, LarryMOAR/Zarathustra, is in fine spirits this morning, and is expected to make a near-full recovery after being hit with the banhammer early this AM. He would like you all to know that he did it for teh lulz and that he's been properly medicated so as to prevent complications during his upcoming surgery -- which was deemed necessary for the greater good of the gene pool. Mr. MOAR notes that hospital food isn't nearly as good as microwaveable Hot Pockets, Kraft EZ-Mac, or Mom's Spaghetti, however, and eagerly awaits returning to the simpler pleasures in life -- such as the unforgiving pwnage of n00bs in the World of Warcraft, and ------------ before he ----------- to get the day started by 3 in the afternoon.

Clown,

The left has become ever-increasingly totalitarian. Identity politics rules the roost. Does the notion that some people on the right are decent people; they may be misguided and wrong on some issues, But they make some good points and argue from a position of principle...even exist any more?

My circle is ideologically diverse. A person's personal politics does not define one's character. Not that I've seen. Yet on this site tribalism seems to be increasingly the norm.

Yeah, as the Republicans are passing a bill that will cost at least a trillion dollars so that billionaires can pay less tax and so that graduate students will pay taxes on scholarships, Betsy DeVos won't forgive loans for students who were ripped off by for-profit colleges???? Humility isn't what is needed, anger and revenge is what is needed. These evil bastards need to be more than defeated, they need to be destroyed. Humility???? Really??? Moderation isn't going to protect you from the reaction you receive for supporting the worst of Trump.

Think of the Retort as a game. If you are foolish enough to defend every single stupid or reckless thing Trump does, you're the ball.

If we've learned nothing else from the Age of Trump it would be that you're precisely wrong about this. Anyone that continues to defend and support Trump, his policies and the vast majority of his administration is of low character. They support literal rapists and thieves without hesitation. My wife attributes much continued Trump support to simple bloody minded pride. One or two Trumpites who come here are getting their feet shot off by what he and the GOP are doing. It's all too much for the precious snowflakes to admit.

#58 | Posted by Zed at 2017-12-02 12:33 PM | Reply

Conservatives simply hate liberals and liberal ideology. They think liberals are stealing from them and giving Conservatives' tax money to low-lives, losers, foreigners, and "sinners" in exchange for political support.

It wouldn't matter if a Republican candidate was a mass-murdering, serially-raping, pedophiliac/hebophiliac thief. As long as the Republicans candidates keep the Blacks, Mexicans, Liberals, and ----------- an control, they simply don't care what the political candidate has or hasn't done.

I was reared in evangelical/charismatic churches in my youth. This is what is taught from the pulpit:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

--St Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians, Ch. 6:10-17

There's no subtlety to this anymore as it's beyond a simple difference of opinion.

The right has gone completely off the rails in support of a party and agenda that has zero benefit for them and, in most cases, will make their lives worse or harder.

So no, I don't need humility. If reality is too tough for you to bear then you need to think about what the actual problems are.
