Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Donald Trump has said effectively nothing about Alabama Roy Moore (R) and his sexual-misconduct scandal, but on the White House's South Lawn this afternoon, the president finally addressed the controversy: REPORTER: What is your message to women, sir, during this pivotal moment in our country, when we're talking about sexual misconduct -- you had your own allegations against you -- what do you say to women ... TRUMP: Let me just tell you, Roy Moore denies it. That's all I can say. He denies it. And by the way, he totally denies it. Note the disconnect between the question and the answer. Specifically on the Senate race in Alabama -- which is three weeks from today -- the president seemed pleased to note that Moore's accusers are "Trump voters," leading him to add, "All you can do is, you have to do what you have to do."

But then Trump dropped the pretense. "I can tell you one thing for sure," he told reporters. "We don't need a liberal person in there, a Democrat. Jones." Asked if "an accused child molester better than a Democrat," the president replied, "Well, he denies it. Look, he denies it."

"Well, he denies it. Look, he denies it."

Yet he wants all his political enemies jailed based on conspiracy theories.

A retired Alabama police officer told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday that she had to keep an eye on Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore in the 1980s at local high school football games because he would regularly harass the team's teenage cheerleaders.

Faye Gary, who for 37 years was an officer at the Gadsden Police Department, explained to Mitchell that Moore's reputation for pursuing underage girls was widely known throughout the community.

"We were also told to watch him at the ballgames, and make sure that he didn't, you know, hang around with the cheerleaders," said Gary.

Gary also said she learned that Moore had been barred from entering the local shopping mall because he had been "harassing" young women who worked there.

"Tax cuts for the wealthy override any moral considerations"

It's not tax cuts for the wealthy, it's abortion and gay you-know-what.
Trump wants him for the tax bill, but Moore's would-be constituents want him for the social issues.
Yes.
Irony.

And since our modern politics is not much of an a la carte kind of thing...

Disgusting. Trump and his followers are truly deplorable.

Trump brags about his sexual assaults so why should he be bothered by a little child molestation by someone who may give him a Senate seat he needs? OK trolls, I know it's late in Moscow but jump on this and lets see what you've got.

A prominent right-wing preacher who appeared alongside Senate candidate Roy Moore at a campaign rally just days ago said that Moore dated teen girls because of their "purity" and because when he got back from Vietnam there weren't any women his age left to date. Pastor Flip Benham told a local Alabama radio show on Monday that there was nothing wrong with Moore dating teenage girls.

"Judge Roy Moore graduated from West Point and then went on into the service, served in Vietnam and then came back and was in law school. All of the ladies, or many of the ladies that he possibly could have married were not available then, they were already married, maybe, somewhere. So he looked in a different direction and always with the [permission of the] parents of younger ladies. By the way, the lady he's married to now, Ms. Kayla, was a younger woman," Benham said on WAPI 99.5 FM Monday evening. "He did that because there is something about a purity of a young woman, there is something that is good, that's true, that's straight and he looked for that."

I need to take a ****** shower. People like these would use their interpretations of the bible to justify any behavior in the universe.

"Aside from the disquieting specter of a 30-something Moore trolling shopping malls for teenage dates, Moore does not represent the evangelical movement he claims to herald."

It's in Two Corinthians... speaking of which, Trump and Moore are much like the first century pagans in Corinth who sacrificed virgins... to themselves.

I think we all need to step back and acknowledge what Trump is saying. He is saying that Judge Moore not only denies it, he TOTALLY denies it. That's like denying it to infinity. So, in other words, Moore is STRONG, not WEAK like you losers in the FAKE MEDIA and the FAKE DRUDGE RETORT.

Poor Poor Moore had no choice but to date teens rather than say meet single women his own age.

Are we really going to pretend there were no war widows in Alabama after Vietnam?

@#5 ... Moore's would-be constituents want him for the social issues. ...

What happened to the Christian South since the Republicans took it over to get Pres Reagan elected?

Are the Christians in the South now placing party over morality?

Has their faith sunk to that low of a priority in their lives?

The sad part is, foxnews and right wing radio domination have made trumps followers hate democrats more than child molesters.

Ms. Kayla was married (with a kid) when she met Moore. She got divorced and married Moore.

So much for young purity.

In a stereotypical patriarchal society, women get to be one of three things: virgin (Madonna), mother or whore. Sex ruins the virgin and is only justifiable if it results in motherhood/children. Anything else makes a woman a whore.

Today's Trump-supporting Republicans are utterly loathsome and morally corrupt.

It's a shame what has been done to the party of Lincoln. I don't see how they ever wash off the evil of Trump.

Trump and Moore are both fond of 14 year old girls.

Republicans are fine with child molesters.

Once Moore wins Alabama, they can get rid of that pesky age of consent thing.

Are Republicans falling for this, too?

Trump: "Yeah, I'll be talking about him. I can tell you one thing for sure: We don't need a liberal person in there, a Democrat -- Jones. I've looked at his record. It's terrible on crime."

Wikipedia: Jones served as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, and is known for prosecuting the remaining two Ku Klux Klan perpetrators of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing which killed four African-American girls.

I can see how this is a problem for Trump and his base. Decent people see this as justice.

Well at least Trump is being somewhat honest that he just cares more about it being a republican winning.
He's just giving a rational for ignoring the accusations with the ‘totally' argument.

#30 | Posted by Snowfake at 2017-11-21 09:41 PM | Reply

All Trump cares about is whether he perceives someone to be pro-Trump. Nothing else is a consideration. Trump is a very simple minded person.

If Moore wins, the Senate definitely needs to investigate and bring in people like this retired cop to testify under oath:

Faye Gary, who for 37 years was an officer at the Gadsden Police Department, explained to Mitchell that Moore's reputation for pursuing underage girls was widely known throughout the community.

"We were also told to watch him at the ballgames, and make sure that he didn't, you know, hang around with the cheerleaders," said Gary.
