Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, November 20, 2017

Eight women have told The Washington Post that longtime television host Charlie Rose made unwanted sexual advances toward them, including lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence, or groping their breasts, buttocks or genital areas. The women were employees or aspired to work for Rose at the Charlie Rose show from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011. They ranged in age from 21 to 37 at the time of the alleged encounters. Rose, 75, whose show airs on PBS and Bloomberg TV, also co-hosts CBS This Morning and is a contributing correspondent for 60 Minutes.

Kyle Godfrey-Ryan, one of Rose's assistants in the mid-2000s, recalled at least a dozen instances where Rose walked nude in front of her while she worked in one of his New York City homes. He also repeatedly called the then-21-year-old late at night or early in the morning to describe his fantasies of her swimming naked in the Bellport pool as he watched from his bedroom, she said. ...

The young women who were hired by the show were sometimes known as "Charlie's Angels," two former employees said. Rose frequently gave unsolicited shoulder rubs to several of them, behavior referred to among employees as "the crusty paw," a former employee said.

I'm afraid innocents are going to get swept up in this frenzy. But, if true, what the hell? I'm waiting for facts on everyone now. Great headlines, but this can end people's careers.

Can you imagine all the people in your past with an axe to grind suddenly get to crush you? Not saying guilty folks should get a pass, but calm down - left or right. Let the facts come out. I've been kind of naive that men can be such pigs (not just this story).

"Can you imagine all the people in your past with an axe to grind suddenly get to crush you?"

Or think of all the women with promising careers that were destroyed because she didn't respond to some guy's advances.

I can well imagine there are quite a few out there going back for decades.

I'm afraid innocents are going to get swept up in this frenzy. But, if true, what the hell?

People are too quick to worry about this. The Charlie Rose story is deeply sourced and has eight accusers. Seven go on the record. Others corroborate being told about the incidents long ago after they happened.

Given all of this, it's incredibly unlikely Rose is innocent. He's a guy who became an adult in the 1960s and apparently never gave up the "women at work are my playthings" ethos that we still associate with men in that era.

I am surprised about this one. I never heard even a rumor that he was creeping on women.

I first saw him on the tube when he was at KXAS in Dallas in the late 1970s or early 1980s and began The Charlie Rose Show. I never liked him much and found him boring, but I can't remember hearing anything bad about him ever.

Those poor women! Just starting a TV career and you have to deal with the Crusty Paw.

That's where my focus is too. People bummed about Louis CK's future work not being aired should think about the women whose work we'll never see because he helped push them out of comedy. The same applies to Rose.

@#1 ... I'm bummed about this one. I've always liked this guy as a presenter. ...

Yeah, Mr Rose was a surprise, though apparently not to those who worked on the set with him.

I hope there is someone capable of filling the void the cancellation of his show would create.

You make women seem like such fragile beings.

Sexual harassment on the job does a lot of damage to women. It can derail their careers.

Sexual abuse and rape can mess victims up for decades.

Most surprising is that Rose had time to harass anyone considering how long it took him to ask a question.

I mean, image Charlie Rose just asking a woman out on a date... she would have been asleep before he finished asking. Say, maybe that's how he did it.

We should start keeping track of who hasn't been accused of sexual harassment from the media, DC and Hollywood, it would be short list given the current trajectory.

The common thread, besides men are pigs, is that powerful people in the venues where their power is wielded have an outsized ego which allows them to believe all subordinates welcome their "personal" attention.
The cult of personality not only allows them to believe they are indeed special but also irresistibly sexually attractive.
I suspect more follow the Trump pattern of "if you're famous/powerful you just grab" then Franken's sophomoric clowning & reluctant acknowledgement of offense.

When the Weinstein scandal first came out I had a discussion with a man I work with. He sort of said that women were sort of asking for it. A total lack of understanding is expressed by many men who don't get it that many men consider women who work for them to be their personal "harem." Either the women allow mistreatment or they will be out of a job, or they will miss promotions, or they will just have to work in a very hostile environment. It happens all the time in workplaces all over the world.

Misogyny? Rape? Sexual Abuse? Harassment? This is what democrats and the left do. they treat women like crap, they poverty pimp minorities, the racist white men in the democrat party is vast! The democrats rape em planned parenthood scrapes em party has been getting away with misogyny since they were raping and whipping their black female slaves in the 1800's. I left the democrat party because of the sexual misconduct that the gay perverts spewed and practiced religiously. Now Democrats wanna make sexual abuse easier by allowing pervert men in the ladies room.

Lets not forget the sexual misconduct of JFK and how it lead to the death of Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Kilgallen. A very wise man once wrote, "The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth-persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

Dying CIA officer Normand Hodges claims he assassinated 37 people, including Marilyn Monroe. The 78-year-old said he worked for the CIA for 41 years as an operative. He also admitted to acting as a hitman for the governmental agency.

Normand Hodges is slowly dying. The retired CIA officer confessed to committing the assassinations during his stay at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk, Virginia, according to a World News Daily

Lets not forget JFK's Brother "The Swimmer" Ted Kennedy and how he killed Mary Jo Kopechnie. His pregnant lover during the time Ted Kennedy's wife was on bed rest while pregnant with Ted Kennedy's child, nice guy huh?

A quick rundown: On July 18, 1969, Kennedy left a small party with Kopechne. Kennedy later testified he merely planned to drop the pretty, petite blonde off at her hotel room. But Kopechne let no one know she was leaving with him and left her hotel key behind. Kennedy made a wrong turn on the Massachusetts island's road, and drove off the ---- Bridge into Poucha Pond. Kennedy somehow escaped -- perhaps before the car's engine dragged it down -- and swan to shore. Inexplicably, he called Kopechne's name a few times (because that would help), dived into the pond a few times, then left for his hotel without notifying residents or authorities until after 8 AM the next day after sleeping off the party, well after poor Mary Jo could hope to be rescued.

Kopechne was swiftly buried only a day after she died. A district attorney petitioned to exhume her to determine the cause of death, but his request was denied by a judge -- making it impossible to determine whether Kopechne, whose mouth and nose were filled with blood, had drowned quickly or suffocated to death. Both fates are horrible, but Kopechne would have succumbed to suffocation less quickly than drowning, allowing more time for rescuers to save her.

John Farrar, head of the volunteer search and rescue team in Edgartown, reached the scene in 20 minutes the next morning and found Kopechne's corpse twisted in such a way as to indicate she was searching for pockets of air. Farrar believes she lived for two hours after the crash -- not that his testimony would ever go on record.

"I was told outright by the D.A.'s office that I would not be allowed to testify on how long Kopechne was alive in the car," he told People magazine in July 1989. "They were not interested in the least in anything that would hurt Ted Kennedy."

The history of Democrats and misogyny is not knew. It goes back to the creation of the Racist KKK supported Democrat party and racist Margaret Sanger promoting Eugenic . The Target of Eugenics is the Black race and the pregnant black women in the USA. Sanger wrote about the "deterioration in the human stock" and "the perpetuation of defectives, delinquents, and dependents." Lest you have any doubt about what this woman of so-called "courage, ... tenacity, [and] vision" meant, Sanger was committed to reducing the number of African Americans through contraception.

Quoth Sanger: "We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

Isn't it amazing that a woman who said what Sanger did isn't vilified more generally as a racist intent on eliminating African Americans?

And here's another ugly truth behind Planned Parenthood: the disproportionate number of minorities this organization kills and how it sets up shop in poor neighborhoods. According to a report by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, in 2012, far more African American babies were killed by abortion -- 31,328 -- than were born -- 24,758.

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that in New York City, 78 percent of the abortions in 2011 were to black and Hispanic children.

By the way, one minister who is not going along is the redoubtable Walter Hoye of Oakland, California. Hoye notes that abortion kills more black Americans in three days than the Klan killed under Jim Crow in 86 years. That is the real legacy of Margaret Sanger, and Planned Parenthood. And now you know.

(LifeNews Note: Eric Metaxas is best known for two biographies: Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery about William Wilberforce. . This column originally appeared at Breakpoint.)

Democrat Rcaists have tried to accuse Blacks who did not tow the democrat line of misogyny and sexual harassment. They have falsely accused Herman Cane, Clarence Thomas and most recently GOP Presidential Candidate and HUD Secretary Ben Carson of Sexual Harassment. The Democrat M.O. is clear, if you are Black, Conservative and successful . You are an "uncle Tom" and do not represent Black Men in America.

Virginia Republican congressional candidate Barbara Comstock fired back at her opponent, Democrat John Foust, calling him sexist for questioning whether she "even had a real job."

An attack ad labeled Foust's attacks "sexist," "bizarre," "insensitive" and "ignorant." And warned, "Don't be fooled by Foust." Democrats were mum.

Not a peep about the use of the sexist word "whore" from Lena Dunham, actress and comedian who stars in HBO's "Girls." Instead, in a recent Cosmopolitan article, she calls out Republicans for antiquated views. While encouraging millennials to vote, she says: "This is how you keep sexist health care policies from passing." And later adds, "This is how you keep sexist politicians out of office. This is how you create the change you want."

#35 | Posted by liberalsrajoke at 2017-11-21 03:00 PM | Reply

In 2010, current California Gov. Jerry Brown (D), or a member of his campaign, blasted his opponent, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman (R), as a "whore" in a private telephone conversation. The next day, the National Organization of Women endorsed Brown.

But in March 2012, conservative radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, called Sandra Fluke a "----" and a "prostitute" after Fluke voiced her support of mandating insurance coverage for contraceptives. The political hierarchy – including President Obama and Democrats -- called for him to apologize.

Let us not forget Obama calling Sarah Palin " A pig wearing lipstick"

Obama , the left and Democrats had no problem throwing their support behind the leader of the fixed democrat primary leaders and wife of an enabling serial rapist bill Clinton. Let us not forget what Democrats called Bill Clinton's accusers

Hillary's tactics also extended to verbal abuse. She referred to women who were sexually assaulted by Clinton as "bimbo eruptions," "-----------" and "cheap -----." Who could forget Hillary's hit man, James Carville, who said of Ms. Jones, "Drag a $100 bill through a trailer park and you'll never know what you'll find." nice huh?

Feminist and women's anti-sexual violence organizations to elicit a response to this situation. Amazingly, not a single one of these groups agreed to speak about Hillary and Bill's war on women. One of the only comments came from Marsha Roberson, director of communications for Futures Without Violence, which attempts to educate women on all forms of violence. (I am an award winning director for my PSA's about rape awareness) I saw the misogyny and hate that Feminists and anti-sexual violence organizations had against the women accusing Clinton of Sexual assault. Anti-sexual violence organizations are anything but that. I know of instances where in 3 different cities. The private information and identity of Rape Victims have been leaked. This happened in San Diego, Ca., Houston, TX and in SLC, Utah

To the anti-sexual violence organizations, there is a litmus test. If the women with no evidence accuses a Republican? Then he is guilty! If a woman accuses a Democrat who is praised by the left, such as Al Franken, Bill Clinton, RFK, loving people, then the woman is a liar.

That's like saying an organization devoted to preventing arson doesn't think it's important when many homes had been deliberated burned to the ground.

Laura Wood, a blogger known as "The Thinking Housewife," issued this statement to AFP . "Hillary Clinton's the Chairman Mao of feminism. If Bill had been a Republican senator, he would have lost his career a long time ago. Instead, his bad behavior is viewed as a personal failing that has nothing to do with politics. The ends justify the means."
