The British publicist who helped set up the fateful meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a group of Russians at Trump Tower in June 2016 is ready to meet with Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's office, according to several people familiar with the matter. Rob Goldstone has been living in Bangkok, Thailand, but has been communicating with Mueller's office through his lawyer, said a source close to Goldstone. Goldstone's New York lawyer, G. Robert Gage, declined to comment other than to say, "nothing is presently scheduled." However, sources close to Goldstone and familiar with the investigation say they expect he will travel to the United States at some point "in the near future," as one put it.

Goldstone helped set up -- and attended -- the June 9, 2016, meeting at Trump Tower at which Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya says she presented information to Donald Trump Jr. and other key Trump aides.

The meeting has emerged as a focus of Mueller's investigation into whether the Trump team colluded with the Russian effort to meddle in the 2016 presidential election.

In an email that later became public, Goldstone wrote to Trump Jr. that "the Crown prosecutor of Russia ... offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father."

"More than a dozen top Trump campaign officials subpoenaed in Mueller probe

Special Counsel Robert Mueller caught the Trump campaign by surprise last month, issuing a subpoena to more than a dozen officials despite the campaign's voluntary compliance with his probe, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing a source.

The Journal called the subpoena the "first official order" for information from the campaign. The campaign is responding to the order on an "ongoing" basis, the source reportedly told the outlet.

None of those who received the subpoena were compelled to testify before a grand jury, the Journal reported. "Sending a subpoena to an entity that says it has been cooperating with document requests isn't unusual in cases in which prosecutors have some concern that their demands aren't being met promptly or aren't being entirely fulfilled," the Journal wrote, citing former prosecutors.

"The Russia probe has entered Phase 2

We have now entered the second phase of the Russia probe. In the first, special counsel Robert Mueller and his team, starting from scratch, gathered sufficient evidence to file felony charges against Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos.

Phase 1 has given Mueller leverage against higher-level targets, who must be wondering how much the special counsel already knows, and how much he's about to learn. Careful work may, eventually, enable him to secure evidence against the greatest target of them all: the president. In this second round, Mueller is holding all the cards and has the latitude to play them when and as he chooses.

The initial charges sent a message to the White House and former Trump campaign officials, who had tried to whistle their way past the graveyard, portraying the probe as lacking in substance and likely to be short-lived.

The Oct. 30 flurry demonstrated that 1) people will be going to jail for a long time and 2) the probe is unlikely to stop short of the Oval Office.

Mark Felt's directive to ‘follow the money' is Mueller's roadmap in this investigation. The Dotard reinforced that direction by hinting that Mueller stay away from the President's business dealings. DJTJ further helped by stating years ago how the Trump Organization got so much money from Russian investors and banks.

My prediction on how this plays out: Trump is controlled by the Russian financiers, and they played his campaign to extract promises on sanctions and trade. Nobody in the campaign recognized this but Manafort who got bought off. Jared and DJTJ, and maybe Ivanka, will be indicted and Dotard will face the choice of putting out pardons only to see his family forced to testify against him, or he will see them convicted and offered breaks in their sentences to give up Daddy-O.

Either way The Dotard will be out and Idiot Pence in shortly after the 2018 election. With Dems in control of at least one chamber of Congress thanks to Roy Moore getting elected, the US government will be on autopilot until 2020.

With delaying tactics and appeals, this could go on for years.
