Tesla's production floor is a "hotbed for racist behavior," more than 100 African-American employees claimed in a lawsuit in which they alleged black workers at the electric car maker suffer severe and pervasive harassment. The employees are seeking permission from a judge to sue as a group and are seeking unspecified general and punitive monetary damages as well as an order for Tesla to implement policies to prevent and correct harassment. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Marcus Vaughn, who worked in the Fremont factory from April 23 to Oct. 31.

Vaughn alleged that employees and supervisors regularly used the "N word" around him and other black colleagues. Vaughn said he complained in writing to human resources and Musk and was terminated in late October for "not having a positive attitude." Tesla didn't immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

If liberals behaved like conservatives, we'd see people smashing their Tesla's on youtube right now in protest.

Tesla disputes charges it turned a blind eye to racism at its factory [Updated]

...Update: In a statement posted late on Tuesday, Tesla disputed allegations that it has turned a blind eye to racial discrimination at the company. The company says it promptly investigated reports of racially-charged remarks at Tesla's Fremont factory.

"Our investigation identified a number of conflicting accusations and counter-accusations between several African-American and Hispanic individuals," the company writes. "Immediate action was taken, which included terminating the employment of three of the individuals. We believe this was the fair and just response to the facts that we learned."

Tesla vowed to take further action, as necessary, to address future incidents of workplace misconduct.

Tesla also says Vaughn wasn't fired -- that he was employed by a temp agency with a six-month contract that simply wasn't renewed.

Tesla says a May e-mail from CEO Elon Musk was taken out of context. The full text of the email is reproduced at the bottom of this story....

I suspect there may be more to come as this unfolds further.

If you're not allowed to hire racists, how have the police stayed in business all these years?

The only race Tesla accepts is the 1/4 mile.

This lawsuit has been brought to you by the american petroleum institute.

Today tesla unveilled an electric semi truck that is FAR faster than diesel, far faster, and cheaper to operate.

Then they unveilled the fastest production car ever. 1.9 seconds 0-60, with a 630 mile electric range.

Enjoy your vroom vrooms while you can dinosaurs.

Big oil will use every trick in the book to try and stop tesla. They're sociopaths who've decided making money is more important than the planet or life on it. Fake lawsuits, industrial sabotage, fake news stories, it'll all get ramped up as tesla starts eating their lunch.

Petroleum might not like it, but the trump folks should; only electric cars can be powered by coal.

Anyone that doubts the benefits of electric over ICE needs to look at the Roadster's torque figure; 7300+ lb-ft.
