A strong 7.3-magnitude earthquake has rattled the northern border region between Iran and Iraq, killing scores. At least 61 people were killed and 300 injured in western Iran, state media said, with four more reported dead in Iraq. The death toll is likely to rise.

The quake hit 19 miles (30km) southwest of Halabja, near the northeastern border with Iran, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The occurred at a depth of 33.9 km (21 miles), and tremors were felt in Turkey, Israel and Kuwait.

according to NBC News

"At least 330 people were killed and almost 4,500 other injured after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck near the Iran's border with Iraq.

More than 100 aftershocks were registered."

The place is in ruins. Rubble and dead people everywhere. How can they tell it was an earthquake? Sounds like a Monday in the ME.
