Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Contradicting U.S. intelligence agencies, President Donald Trump on Saturday said he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin's claim that the Kremlin did not attempt to interfere in the 2016 election. Trump told reporters on Saturday that he was skeptical of the intelligence findings and spoke dismissively of several former top Obama officials with long careers in public service. "You hear it's 17 agencies [who agreed on the hacking]. Well, it's three," he said. "And one is [then-CIA Director John] Brennan. And one is, whatever. I mean, give me a break. They're political hacks. So you look at it, and then you have Brennan, you have [then-Director of National Intelligence James] Clapper and you have [then-FBI Director James] Comey. Comey's proven now to be a liar and he's proven to be a leaker. So you look at that." Trump also lamented that Putin is "very insulted" by the accusations of election meddling.

"He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did. ... Every time he sees me, he says, ‘I didn't do that,' and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it. But he says, ‘I didn't do that.'"

Trump has largely refused to blame Putin for the hacking and even told reporters in July that he believes "other countries" besides Russia were involved. Early last month he missed a key deadline to implement new sanctions on Russia in response to the hacking, sanctions that were set forth in a bipartisan bill that he'd signed into law in August. Weeks later, Foreign Policy reported that the State Department had shuttered the office that deals with sanctions policy.

Trump is a Russian Asset. He demonstrates every day that Pootie Poot is his Daddy. His every action is anti American.

Those who refuse to acknowledge this likelihood are complicit in his efforts to undermine the USA, and give comfort to Russia.

Have a crappy day Vets who support this --------.

I know there are other threads basically on this same subject, but I felt this aspect deserved a thread of its own because of how objectively revealing this is. Let's completely take politics out of this and view it solely through the lens of legal US policy and any President's oath to protect and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

This President is openly and actively subverting the security of these United States toward the favor of another foreign power. No US President has ever gone abroad and nakedly insulted his own intelligence agencies and heads of law enforcement because he disagrees with their conclusions and findings. And they certainly don't worry about whether another nation's leader's feelings are hurt by what most citizens feel are factual truths being uncovered by honest investigations directly tied to our national security interest which the President is supposed to defend and uphold, not besmirch and criticize.

These acts are really worthy of impeachment as this President openly ignores a law written by Congress and even disbands the office that would enforce the stated law. This is opposing the Constitution, not supporting its dictates. And he continually tells us of his contempt for people and agencies merely doing their jobs. Unprecedented.

Something like this doesn't happen by accident:

US embassy hires security firm of former Russian spy who worked with Putin

The US embassy in Moscow is to be guarded by a company owned by a former head of KGB counter-intelligence who worked with British double agent Kim Philby and young Vladimir Putin, after cuts to US staff demanded by Russia.

Elite Security Holdings was awarded a $2.83 million contract to provide "local guard services for US mission Russia," which includes the Moscow embassy and consulates in St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok, according to a post on a US state procurement website.

The contract and background of the firm came to light in a Kommersant newspaper report on Friday.

Sally Yates‏ @SallyQYates

POTUS embraces Putin yet again telling world he believes former KGB agent's denial of attack on our election over our own Intel public servants, calling them "political hacks." Disturbing and shamelessly unpatriotic, on Veterans Day no less.

On the face of it, you've got to be ******* kidding me....!!!!

Someone needs to start putting this narrative in front of every elected Republican they can find because this is far beyond political and cannot be denied any longer.

"Do you think that President Trump's refusal to implement the sanctions Congress passed with veto-proof majorities and he signed into law and his actual disbanding of the office charged with enforcing sanctions are both consistent with his oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies....?

Do you think it's in this nation's interests for this President to shutter the Foreign Policy office and - by historical standards of staff levels - gut the State Department, leaving vital positions - such as a key official for South Korea - unfilled?

(If this proves to be the case)Is it in this nation's best security interests for this State Department to issue a $23 million contract with a physical security company owned by the former head of KGB counterintelligence for four of our properties in Russia?

And lastly, what does it say about the allegiances of the man who is making these decisions? Do they seem to be in this nation's better interests as you understand them?"

This isn't about partisanship anymore. The facts are too stark and the inferences too obvious. This is a threat to this nation's security interests. Period.

This whole mess may be about to explode. Trump's own CIA director, Mike Pompeo, said today the Russians did in fact meddle in the election.

Before he leaves office Putin will have him saying he hates the United States, hates Americans and that Putin is God. He is obviously owned by Putin.
