According to mayors and county leaders who spoke at a Texas House subcommittee hearing, the long term response from the federal government to Hurricane Harvey has come up short. Over 51,000 Texans were still living in hotel rooms as of last week as they had been displaced from their homes and 26,000 are in temporary housing of their own selection. ... Yeah FEMA sucks. During the flooding before Harvey, they brought in truckload after truckload of ice. It wasn't needed at all. It was dumped on an old airbase runway to melt. FEMA said that wasn't bad planning, it was great planning. The HEB grocery store chain post-disaster logistics makes FEMA look amateurish at best.

I expect incompetence, regardless of who is president, and I'm never let down.

Unfortunately FEMA serves a purpose which is impossible to accomplish to everyone's approval. But it does serve a great force to many.

They could serve it far better. Stop letting them off the hook.

And maybe they should try celebrating their success a bit less when they aren't successful.
