Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, November 04, 2017

Huffington Post: Papa John's founder and CEO John Schnatter got cheesed off about the NFL kneeling controversy on a conference call with investors on Wednesday, and by Thursday his product was being held up by the world's most influential neo-Nazi site as the potential pizza of choice for the alt-right. Once The Daily Stormer decides to embrace a brand, the entire white supremacist community tends to jump in. ... "This is great," wrote columnist Adrian Sol at The Daily Stormer, which has served as a platform for racists to gripe about the NFL's racial makeup ... "Papa John: Official pizza of the alt-right?" Sol wondered.

Papa John's CEO donated to Trump, slammed Obamacare, and once said the US 'is on the path to becoming what Germany was in 1867'

John Schnatter x Knuckleheadness (white supremacists + black folks) ÷ moronacy = nazi sympathizer

Pizza Hut says sales are just fine after Papa John's complaints about NFL protests
ftw.usatoday.com

Papa John's CEO John Schnatter blamed NFL anthem protests for lower-then-expected sales this week, which opened the company up to ruthless mocking on the internet.

On Thursday, Pizza Hut countered Papa John's claim and wanted to let everyone know that their business hasn't been hurt by Yum Brands' relationship with the NFL.

According to Business Insider, Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed told investors that Pizza Hut hasn't seen the impact from NFL player protests that Papa John's claimed to be damaging their business. Creed said:

"We're not seeing any impact from any of that."

While Papa John's is recognized as the "official" pizza of the NFL, brands like Pizza Hut and Dominos rely considerably on NFL fans for their game-day sales.

If fans were turning off the NFL due to player protests, Pizza Hut would see impacted sales figures.

Pizza Hut's comments suggest that Papa John's struggles are food issues more so than they are results of an NFL boycott.

Fans certainly backed up that stance.

Pizza Hut > Papa Johns = happier belly

I'm surprised Larry Mohr doesn't like it simply because ole Papa John is a Trump supporter.

Ignore the pizza and It'll go away on it's own eventually.

Unless you shower it with grated parmesan cheese it so desperately craves.

What if the local pizza maker dude just so happens to be anti-Semitic, outright racist, or homophobic? (or all of the above -- or worse)

You should never piss on those who agree with you, even if it's only most of the time.

I can throw a rock and hit 8 or 10 local pizza shops that are better than ****** Pizza hut.

I doubt that all of them are ran by **** heads.

Papa John's and Pizza Hut's parent company are both based in Louisville, where I live, and even here, local pizza business is a booming business, and Schnatter is taking it on the chin BIG TIME. And before this, with the decision to limit full-time jobs to management so he wouldn't have to pay 14 cents more per pizza for employee healthcare.

Schnatter has been out front for conservative causes for a long time. He had a fundraiser at his sprawling mansion for Mitt Romney, back when Romney was a thing.

So let me get this straight ...

Pizza Hut is indirectly agreeing with your basic antipathy toward anyone condoning ANY sympathetic white supremacist attitudes ...

Yet you can't find an ounce of DNA within you to give Pizza Hut an "atta-boy" -- even a left-handed compliment (no pun intended) for challenging Papa Johns --------?

There are bigger things in the world more important than ever admitting that you bought pizza from a giant corporate chain restaurant like Pizza Hut.

Papa John's is the worst. No big loss here.

In Trump's America people are choosing the side of hate more often. The balance tips so easily...

I'm glad I don't live in the fantasy world that you people live in.

The one where every mom and pop shop owner has taken a hard line stand on every topic you could ever imagine.

Has anyone actually ever used the garlic-butter ghee that comes with every Papa John's pizza?

I mean, did you think to yourself, "the blood's been pumping much too quickly through my arteries lately."

Back in the day, even after a 12-pack of Frio 6.0, a half-gallon of Olde English 800, or a 5th of Popov vodka, there was still enough vanity left to ward the little imp off my shoulder from tempting me to eat it.

I admit. I'm a pizza ----. I'll eat basically anything that resembles pizza. I know good from bad, yes, and I prefer the good stuff, but I'll still eat it. Throw in some cold beer, and I'm golden.

Front Street Pizza and Love and Dough in DUMBO NYC is good.

Pequods in Chicago does a good job.

Locally the Village Idiot in Maumee is the best around.

If I'm blowing my diet apart for some pizza it's going to be at one of those 4 places.

That's it.

Seems like a win-win. Papa John's relegates itself to serving a niche little customer base and nazis get to eat garbage.
