Ever wonder how many government employees, employee hours and bits of correspondence it takes to get an hour and a half of Ivanka Trump's time at a public event? A new cache of hundreds of emails obtained from the Department of Education (DOE) through the Freedom of Information Act shows that for one brief event at the Air & Space Museum in March, at least 21 employees and at least 150 emails were required to arrange President Donald Trump's daughter's presence. The emails were obtained by the nonprofit American Oversight and shared exclusively with Newsweek.

Unfortunately, this kind of BS is not uncommon for many official visits by government VIPs. Time, money wasted catering to their whims and desires and efforts to look important. This applies to Executive and Congressional branch principals and staffs. Ambassador's love this crap because it gives them a chance to kiss a VIP's ass, but for most everyone else it is work and far too often it is weekend work. I hated it and I am so glad it is all behind me.

There are the savings of having a first Lady who doesn't do the job. The cost of abandoning the platform are higher.

Just wondering (and laughing) if you added in the costs of the golfing, the Secret Service at Trump Towers, the Secret Service details with the Trump spawn?
