Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Donald Trump's Twitter comments on Thursday threatening to pull federal resources from Puerto Rico as the U.S. territory grapples with the lack of basic necessities elicited shock and alarm on the island and the mainland. ... With people drinking potentially contaminated river water, eating plants because of a lack of food and the official death toll mounting, Santiago Negrón said Trump's comments left her "petrified." "When did we stop being America? " she asked.

You stopped being Americans when we stopped having an American in the White House.

Problem is most American's don't see Puerto Rican's as Americans. They see them as Puerto Ricans. Most American's are probably not well educated enough to understand their status...

It is funny how Trump's words can display the truth behind what Reps whine about all the time. Trump is a person who believes people need to be self-sufficient but should receive help when it is necessary, and that's exactly what he said. But because Dems want the government to control everyone's lives and do everything for them, it is taken as if Trump doesn't want to do anything.
He sent the aid he is legally allowed to send. He donated a million of his own money. And that's not good enough. Such a sad story America has become.

Real Americans help other Americans until and unless they don't need help.

Funny how you think there is a limit to what we can do for PR when at the same time there is no limit to what we can do for Florida or Houston. We just gave them $30 Billion but all we did for PR was to guarantee $5 billion in LOANS which will be used by mainland resident owners of the tourism industry rebuild, not to help average PR residents

Puerto Ricans simply need to ask their father for a small loan of one million dollars until this is all sorted out.

"Trump is a person who believes people need to be self-sufficient "

Trump prefers people who don't get hit by hurricanes.

And soldiers who don't get captured and parents who don't let their children die in our wars.

New Orleans has a population of about 400,000. After Katrina which was a cat 3 storm. By September 2, 3 days after landfall, they had delivered 1.9 million MREs, 6.7 million liters of water and 1.7 million pounds of ice. By september 9, 11 days after landfall, 16.4 million pounds of ice, 14.2 million quarts of water and 7.9 million ready-to-eat meals had been distributed

www.cnn.com

PR has a population of 3.4 million. After 3 weeks we have delivered 2.4 million liters of water, which is 1/3rd the amount of water we sent to NO in the first 3 DAYS

The effort has been anemic compared to what we did after Katrina

Since Maria we have barely distributed 1 meal per person IN 3 WEEKS

How do you get those supplies anywhere when all the roads are blocked, vehicles are destroyed, and fuel and electricity are scarce?

Did you ask that same question for texas or florida? Nope.

Do you just parrot the same talking points as the world's most famous liar? Yup.

the debate about aid to puerto rico is exactly the same as the debate about affordable health
care. when you monetize the well being of your fellow citizens these are the results. Morallity
that we display as a symbol of our nations righteousness doesn't even need to be in play.
Altruism alone should be enough to compel us to recognize that the political atmosphere as it
exists now is rigged to pick us off group by group then one by one and then America as we
remember it will be ended.

Problem is most American's don't see Puerto Rican's as Americans. They see them as Puerto Ricans. Most American's are probably not well educated enough to understand their status...

Wow. Before all this, you couldn't get a Puerto Rican to vote for statehood. They all drove around with the Puerto Rican flag and not the American flag on their mirrors. Don't make the mistake of calling a Puerto Rican another Hispanic title. He wont let you forget it.

Most Puerto Ricans have a complex about them. They don't want to be part of the United States until they need something. And they are insanely democrat.

So the Island goes bankrupt, their leaders are corrupt beyond measure and now they want to be a state and are looking for money.

That's the real story, I don't expect you liberals to tell the truth.

The issue is not how big the island of Puerto Rico is (BTW, it's about 111 miles by 36 miles), but how long are the roads.

Remember, the crow is driving (not flying!)
