Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump will scrap subsidies to health insurance companies that help pay out-of-pocket costs of low-income people, the White House said late Thursday. His plans were disclosed hours after the president ordered potentially sweeping changes in the nation's insurance system, including sales of cheaper policies with fewer benefits and fewer protections for consumers.

The twin hits to the Affordable Care Act -- on successive days -- could unravel President Barack Obama's signature domestic achievement, sending insurance premiums soaring and insurance companies fleeing from the health law's online marketplaces. After Republicans failed to repeal the health law in Congress, Mr. Trump appears determined to dismantle it on his own.

Without the subsidies, insurance markets could quickly unravel. Insurers have said they will need much higher premiums and may pull out of the insurance exchanges created under the Affordable Care Act if the subsidies were cut off.

And neither was Obama that list, dotard.

Because YOUR reaction to Obamacare, from 2010 to the present, wasn't tied to solutions espoused by experts like Dr. Kizer, that makes you part of the problem. And voting for clueless effing morons like Trump who convinced you Obama was the problem does not help.

The Hippocratic oath says, "First, do no harm".

Looks like you're enoying the thought of poor people getting screwed. All because our elected politicians are too spineless to find ways to pay for poor people's healthcare.

I question your moral compass.

... the problem is Joe 6-pack doesn't know or understand these things, so they vote for the loudest BS artist in the room, which leads to things like Trump and poor people getting shafted.

From the article many may not have read:

The future of the payments has been in doubt because of a lawsuit filed in 2014 by House Republicans, who said the Obama administration was paying the subsidies illegally. Judge Rosemary M. Collyer of the United States District Court in Washington agreed, finding that Congress had never appropriated money for the cost-sharing subsidies.

The judicial branch determined that the executive branch had illegally overstepped its constitutional bounds and tried to usurp the power of the legislative. How many here really want the executive branch to take power not allowed to them by the constitution?

It's not that the GOP doesn't have the spine to find ways to pay for poor people's health care.

It's that they believe that poor people DON'T DESERVE health care because they are poor.

Look no further than Bozo's comment that "they didn't earn it".

This one hit me hard. it's been a year since my collapse and coma. I've told this story a couple times over this year, but, the short version is, having lost my job at the time do to my team being outsourced to another country, and had lost my insurance because of it. My family (more conservative than ANYONE on this site) told me to sign up for ACA while I looked for a new job. I did so and 3 days later, had fallen into a coma with kidney, liver, respiratory, and heart failure due to diabetic complications. I was not expected to survive the first night. My medical bills, without that insurance, would have been over $1,000,000. In short, Obamacare saved my life. Trump is GOING to kill a LOT of people.

Just ignore the next paragraph that says the Obama administration had appealed that decision. It's how AVIGDORE rolls. It's tantamount to lying.

People like Trump and Andrea would applaud the ACA had it not been passed by the black guy.

They loved it when Romney passed the almost identical thing in Massachussetts., but he had an R behind his name and he is quite white.
