One more win would clinch a World Cup place for the United States after Jozy Altidore and Christian Pulisic spearheaded a vital 4-0 victory over Panama at Orlando City Stadium on Friday night. Pulisic, just 19 but already the team's most exciting and accomplished player, eased U.S. nerves with a rapid burst forward followed by a clinical finish in the eighth minute, then set up Altidore for the second 11 minutes later. ... Defeat would have left the U.S. on the brink of elimination and even a tie would have raised serious concerns that its streak of seven straight World Cup appearance could come to an end.

So Pulisic pulled Christian America into the most pluralistic event on the planet earth.

That was a big game. They looked pretty bad lately, but that game showed what they are capable of Bobby Woods, Altidore, and Pulisic were huge.

Pulisic was getting punched, kicked and elbowed out there. Very blatantly too. Concacaf needs to crack down on these goon tactics or else premier clubs will start prohibiting their players from competing.

Not sure what point you are trying to make NorthBayVikingGuy...

Are you happy that America's best player put the team on his back to qualify the World Cup or are you criticizing "Christian America" for participating?

Back on topic, Pulisic is by far the best player to come out of the US, and if he can stay healthy could help carry the US side through the first round of the World Cup.

But first, we have to beat T&T tomorrow.

I think it's funny that Team USA has to play in demographically compatible cities like Salt Lake and Columbus in order to not be out-numbered by fans from whatever nation from our side of the globe we face.

It would be great if more Americans supported the sport. And considering how it's a haven for bigorty, racism, nationalism, and hatred, in Europe and elsewhere, I have to believe it's only a matter of time!
