Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Carl Bernstein declared Friday that "the wheels are coming off the presidency" and called the current state of affairs at the White House "unlike anything I have seen in 50 years in Washington." Bernstein, the veteran journalist of Watergate fame, provided his perspective during an interview on CNN's morning program, New Day. He said there's a sense from "people in the White House and Republicans on Capitol Hill" that "the wheels are coming off the presidency." He added that those closest to the president, including White House chief of staff John Kelly and leaders of the military, are trying to "constrain the president from his own inclinations to say wild things, to act irresponsibly."

Bernstein contended later in the interview that the military is now in control of the presidency.

From a different source then this posted article Raw Story had this quote from Bernstein

"Bernstein said the "big story right now" is Republican members of congress and military leaders and the intelligence community, "many of them have lost confidence in this president."

"They doubt his fitness to be president, they doubt his competence, they're worried that he has to be restrained and constrained by these military leaders," Bernstein explained."

It would be incredible to witness the hostile takeover of the office of a sitting US president. I wonder if our country would survive it. It would be chaos.

"Hostile takeover"?

The country has a right to defend itself.

President Trump has a right to medical care

"constrain the president from his own inclinations to say wild things, to act irresponsibly."

He's a showman. That's how he got to be president.

Bottom line: Trump serves the military-intelligence-banking-corporate complex. It's embedded in Washington culture.

You libs are fools if you thing Trump is his own man.

You're a fool if you don't recognize that Trump is a loose cannon. His Cabinet recognizes it, his Sec. of State obviously recognizes it, why else do you think Gen. Kelly stays in his administration? We have allowed the Republican Party, with the help of Kris Kobach, to steal another election. Incredibly, considering the disastrous results of the 2000 stolen election, we are now presided over by Donald Trump, who is basing his administraion on pay-back for President Obama's ridiculing his hair. Everything Obama accomplished is now the focus of his administration, destroying everything is his goal. I recognized the error of Obama on the very night he insulted Trump but it would be helpful if Trump supporters could understand that very bad things can happen to this nation because Trump can't stand criticism and ridicule of his ridiculous hair. Just be honest righties, you are forced into a position of defending his hair. Be proud fools!

Not disagreeing. I argue he's a symptom of the Washington culture.

Still got your head in the sand? Open your eyes. The Cyber War is real and ongoing. We are in the midst if an Information War. Denial will not make it go away. They have not stopped and will not stop. Why? Because it worked.

The leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday largely endorsed the findings of the intelligence community that Russia sought to sway the 2016 U.S. elections through a hacking and influence campaign, and they called for a "more aggressive, whole-of-government approach" to ensure future elections are not similarly compromised.

"You can't walk away from this and believe that Russia's not currently active," he added.

I know it's not hard to find sources trying to keep the Russian shibboleth alive.
It's all innuendo slowly fading from the public spotlight. It has no legs.

Yes, it's all part of the same continuum. We have less privacy now than ever. I'm surprised the Trump administration isn't taking this more seriously. I get why they don't care about Russian hacking and Wikileaking, but NK and the China might not be adverse to hacking and leaking everyone, including them.

Actually every day it looks more and more likely that trump colluded with putin, and liberals are thrilled about that.

You probably haven't heard much about it from fox news or breitbart, but real some real news and you'll see what's been happening.
