Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, October 05, 2017

This weekend's Saturday Night Live season 43 premiere on NBC revived a longstanding tradition at SNL -- making hay with denim brands. With heartthrob Ryan Gosling as host, SNL put together a digital short spoof commercial for Levi's new line of denim: Levi's Wokes. Hilarious. As Indie Wire comments, it's not a comment on Levi's but on earnest brands striving to show how with it they are -- "the sketch is specifically calling out the corporations that become so performative in their 'wokeness' to show that they totally get something, when they couldn't possibly even begin to."

Shimmer is a floor wax. No it's a dessert topping.

SNL still occasionally creates a gem. The zipper is the best part.

That had to be one of the funniest SNL skits I've seen in a long time.

Thanks.

Always liked SNL.

Haha SNL does a skit that mocks millenial PC culture and conservatives are suddenly praising SNL, after years of attacking SNL as anti-conservative and not funny.

It takes a liberal show to make conservative jokes. Someone tell Tim Allen.

Conservatives can't write comedy. They're too stupid.

They think it's a liberal media conspiracy that there is no conservative Daily Show, when in fact its simply that anyone smart enough to write good jokes is too smart to fall for modern conservatism.

"there is no conservative Daily Show"

All the conservative shows are the "conservative daily show" just without the irony.

I laughed until I couldn't breathe at this one when I saw it on TV. I don't care who you are; this is funny.

LOL.

Alex Jones used to just be "out there" with everything from Chemtrails to ZOG to Remote Viewing.

Now the, uh, "conservatives" have doubled down on crazy so many times, they're right in his wheelhouse.

I love jeans that incorporate your own personal toilet.

After last season I've learned that SNL is actually quite funny when they aren't being political, which unfortunately is very small amounts. Their non-politicals skits aren't always funny but they entertain me and some of them are just pure classics, like this. Once they get political it gets old, especially when they find one thing that is hilarious like Alec playing Trump but then keep shoving it in every episode, sometimes multiple times. The Weekend Update is the biggest offender, I love their news but they spend so much time on trying to make political jokes that it wears thin.

YOu mean you need a safe space where intelligent people won't remind you of how you politically support racists, bigots, and morons.

You just don't get that their audience isn't the right wing conservative base and we appreciate and love Alec Baldwin playing Trump. Y'all have your right wing channels to watch, sorry they can't do comedy.
