Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, September 15, 2017

A Fox News radio host and columnist doesn't like the idea of Superman protecting immigrants from being massacred. Todd Starnes slammed the Man of Steel for being an "illegal alien" and called him a "propaganda tool for the defenders of illegal aliens" in an opinion piece for the Fox News website. In the scene in the latest edition of "Action Comics," an armed man decked out in an American flag bandana lines up a group of immigrants he blames for taking his job. As he opens fire, Superman steps in, deflects the bullets, rescues the immigrants and captures the would-be mass shooter.

The GOTP identifies with Lex Luthor.

This isn't the first time this has happened in a Superman comic. When I first saw this article elsewhere, I thought it was a repost of an old article.

I've been collecting comics for over 30 years and have been reading Superman comics since the death of Superman story line about 25 years ago

James,

In reality, prior to WWII, Superman was usually depicted as doing things such as saving union miners from corrupt bosses, etc. he was originally meant to be a "champion of the little guy".

If Superman was alive during WWII then why did we need to send millions of soldiers overseas?

Yes. Absolutely. The Superman radio show was integral in fighting the KKK. Superman has always been been an advocate of law and justice while doing no one harm.

Nope. The better comparison would be that he's like the child of an American couple who adopts a foreigner.

He's even more like Elian Gonzalesz.

An orphan whose mom died trying to send him to a better place.

Of course Bill Clinton used police force to send him back to the socialist "paradise" of Cuba.

He was returned to his surviving parent, his father.

Why do you hate family values?

Rush Limbaugh at the time that it would be a good thing law enforcement died because of Elian Gonzales.

Fox News Hates Superman

Forget superman! Most of the GOP policies go directly against JESUS and GOD! The two entities conservatives pretend to care the most about.

Now they have to do all these mental gymnastics to try and explain why jesus would support cutting taxes for the rich and deporting kids to countries they've never known.

"News flash.................. Superman is not real."

The point was that fantasy like "Superman" is stupid. If you enjoy it fine but I just can't be entertained by such idiotic nonsense. My Grandson can though, and I'll admit, I've enjoyed watching it with him several times.

This actually demonstates you inability to understand logic. He was born on Krypton so who is the child of an American couple? Your premise is stupid and you are too. Nothing wrong with stupid people but it is great when they realize who they are and quit pretending they are geniuses.

Remember when you were a kid and you thought your father was Superman? Then, you grew up and realized he was just a regular bloke.

Who wore a cape and tights.

I think the comparison was to someone like Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt born in Ho Chi Minh City adopted by Bradgelina.

Technically he probably wouldn't even be illegal, he likely would have refugee status given the whole home planet blew up issue. Of course Trump would deny that since he could be a terrorist who blew up his home planet we just don't know.

Even the most xenophobic hard line anti immigrant racist I work with (I'm in construction so that hole goes pretty deep) still will agree that some immigrants are ok. Fox has gone so deep down the hole that now even superman doesn't classify as "ok".
