Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Donald Trump insisted Thursday that there was no deal with Democrats yet to extend protections for so-called "Dreamers," but the president pleaded with congressional leaders to reach one, while he vowed to push ahead with his border wall "later." ... "Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!" Trump posted about DACA recipients. "They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own -- brought in by parents at young age. Plus big border security." Trump did not deny reports that he would support a deal on DACA that didn't include the wall.

All in all, he's just another brick in the wall.

Sign in a bar reads:

Free beer. Tomorrow.

The wall will get started on. Tomorrow.

He will reveal his secret plan to rid the world of ISIS. Tomorrow.

He will repeal and replace the ACA. Tomorrow.

Coincidentally, this is exactly what he says about Melania.

Y'know, all racism and politics aside, having secure borders is an idea all Americans should support. Now if we can only figure out a way to separate out racism and politics from the issue of secure borders...

Then the wall should be ditched because it doesn't work.

Also, how much should we spend? A billion? A trillion? How secure should it be?

I felt like the Berlin Wall was a secure border, but I don't want one on our southern border.

So no, it's not necessarily "an idea all Americans should support."

It's vague nebulous words hoping to appeal to my nationalist tendencies.

Of course you do. Democrats view illegal immigrants as future Democrat voters, giving them an electoral lock.

Tell your sob story to unemployed and under-employed, low-skilled American citizens, especially blacks who have double the unemployment rate.

The problem is we don't agree on what secure borders means.

To me secure borders means we filter out criminals and contraband but let everybody and everything else move freely.

To the right wingers (who claim to own freedom) secure borders means something completely different and much less free

Agreed, but how do you propose to do that on a 2000+ mile border? I am not trying to troll or be snarky, just curious as to how to do that without some type of border control device.

The devices we have in place now are enough if we stop wasting our time housing, adjudicating, and returning thousands of people who have no criminal records. If only criminals were denied access, people wouldn't be sneaking in. They would walk across at the checkpoints. Of course we would still need to record them just like current immigrants. We just need to stop placing arbitrary quotas. The quotas are the problem. If people want to become Americans let them become Americans.

It's not a sob story. Immigrants start businesses and hire employees at much higher rates than native born Americans. more businesses means more jobs.

Give a rich person a tax break, they put it in an offshore account. Give a poor person a tax break, they buy STUFF and another person has a job selling them STUFF and another person has a job assembling the STUFF and another person has a job making the parts for the STUFF.

consumers drive the economy, not "investors"

Legal citizens don't want the unskilled labor jobs taken currently by illegal aliens. Even if that was a real problem the solution is simple but the GOP is against it due to decades of brainwashing; jail and fine the companies and executives that hire undocumented citizens. Then the problem goes away.

But god forbid Big Guv'ment impose upon the free market in the mind of those nutcases.

BS. The Democrats want to import voters, pure and simple. It's their path to an electoral majority.

For the first time, the number of unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. was lower in 2015 than it was at the end of the Great Recession in 2009. The origin countries of unauthorized immigrants also shifted during that time, with the number from Mexico declining and the number from other regions rising, according to the latest Pew Research Center estimates.

"BS. The Democrats want to import voters, pure and simple. It's their path to an electoral majority."

You seem to have this belief that the problem with the economy is too many unskilled workers can't find jobs.

So we need more unskilled jobs.

That's not going to improve the economy.

Only in the confused brains of Republicans can illegal immigrants vote for Democrats. It is also one of the only excuses Trump can think of to explain how he lost the popular vote. It is absolute b.s. but morons still believe it.

Only in the confused brains of conspiracy theorists can 3 million voters be removed from voting rolls of three swing states by an entity with no power to do so cause the loss of the electoral college vote. It is absolute b.s. but morons still believe it.

Nobody ever accused CrossCheck of being the Secretary of State in those states.
Just the resource the Secretaries of State use to scrub the rolls.
It's sad, how you operate.
