Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Vox: During a flight on Air Force One in July, he personally dictated a statement to White House spokesperson Hope Hicks saying that the meeting "primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children." That statement, released on July 8 and attributed to Donald Trump Jr., was quickly shown to be verifiably false. And several reports released in the past week indicate that special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating just how it was drafted. ... Lying to the press is not a crime. But there's a reason Mueller seems to be focusing so much on this statement anyway: The circumstances around its drafting may be a uniquely good source of evidence of obstruction of justice, committed either by Trump or by his close associates.

To prove obstruction of justice, the law requires prosecutors to prove that their intentions were corrupt. But intent is hard to prove in a criminal case. It requires prosecutors to show what someone was thinking, and people often don't leave verifiable proof of their thought processes lying around. The conversations surrounding the July 8 letter's drafting, however, create a situation where intent could actually be uncovered.

From the picture, albeit incomplete, emerging via Mueller's multiple investigations it seems a pretty safe bet that when BLOTUS fired Comey, and then (as his his wont) couldn't stop blabbing about it - torpedoing his original justification en route - he really stepped in the muck, from which he may never extricate himself. Such a loser.

As with the other stories swirling around Trump, this is breaking no new ground. Most of the recent allegations are merely rehashings or blanks-filled-in from prior stories, many months and months old.

The overriding narrative that I think this portells is that Mueller has more than enough evidence to bring multiple charges of obstruction against Trump, but he is only going to do so when he has the related evidence as to WHY Trump needed to obstruct, and when they can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, or to the best of his ability.

I believe it's just a matter of time, though for many every second seems to be an eternity as we wait for the inevitable.

I hope and pray this is not all for naught. It would be nauseating to see the GrabbenFüher weasel out of all this somehow.

That's only because republicans have decided it's better to have putin's puppet in the white house than a democrat.

Good job fox news. 20 years of lying to republicans about democrats has made them side with our enemies instead.
