Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, September 14, 2017

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders set aside some time during the daily press briefing Wednesday to declare that former FBI director James B. Comey should face criminal punishment for allowing negative information about the president to be leaked to the New York Times, and that ESPN reporter Jemele Hill should be fired for her comments about Trump and race. ... Sanders offered her thoughts on ESPN's Hill who, on Monday, tweeted among other things that "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists." Asked about the comment by The Post's David Nakamura, Sanders replied, "I think that's one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make, and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN."

Beyond the White House suggesting that criticism of the president should result in a person losing his or her job, it's worth remembering that Hill is a member of the media. Sanders is suggesting, then, that a journalist be fired by a media outlet for offering her opinion -- a slightly more significant argument than if Hill had simply been an average citizen who said the same thing.

If this thread was about pretending white southerners playing dress up and goose stepping the usuals would be busy lecturing us on how hate speech is free speech
But this is something different, so they aren't here, cause you know ---- "not racist"

Is there a single late night comedian who hasn't called donnie dealmaker a white supremacist?

Why is he demanding that this particular person be fired?

Odd thing, that.

ESPN fired Schilling because he was a recidivist. If Harris keeps it up, I'm sure they'll fire her as well. She has every right to say it, so unless it violates a contract clause (it probably does, and she got her first warning) I don't see an issue.

I don't know if Trump is a white supremacist, but he plays one in the White House.

I guess turnabout is fair play. I have punishments to recommend in regards to Sarah.

ESPN fired Schilling

Damned shame, too.

I'll miss that ******* idiot being baffled about how pitchers in the WCWS aren't hitting more batters just to be ------.

What a ****----.

Yeah, this was hilarious. There are so many comments among thousands of articles where people have to remind people that the 1st Amendment is meant to protect people from government taking action. I guess Trump doesn't know that works in reverse...

Yes, a VERY outrageous comment, almost as outrageous as calling a president an illegitimate colored Kenyan Muslim bent on imposing Sharia law, selling out our citizenry and military, having an incurable golf addiction and profligate manner of travel to his numerous vacations with his Hollywood cronies. Almost as outrageous...

This is where all the wing dings that were screaming free speech in response to Charlottesville Nazis will suddenly lose their voice.

It is funny to see the "Anti PC" white house screaming for PC now.

So BLOTUS is free to publish lies as fact, but others are to be prevented from voicing their opinions? I guess the pontificating moronic gene's influence runs broad and deep in the Huckleberry clan.

"Trump Critic Should Be Fired."

Did she deny global warming or something???

#13 | Posted by snoofy at 2017-09-14 01:44 PM | Reply

She should not be fired for her political opinion. She should be fired for taking it on the air. Same as Curt Shilling and Hank Williams Jr. Its a consistency thing.

She should be fired for taking it on the air.

She tweeted it. Not on air.

Coddling white supremacists is the official WH policy. Call them out over it and they want you to be censored.

if she should be fired for her comments about Trump, shouldn't the entire broadcast crew of FOX be fired for their incessant comments about Hillary?

Yes, this is absolutely an example of political correctness. Both the left and the right do it, and both generally decide whether (or how strongly) they're for or against it based on partisanship.

"Hank Williams Jr."

as if Hank isn't a coattail's riding piece of crap who writes ------ songs

"If the South woulda won, we woulda had it made" is a Hank Williams Jr. line from one of his dreadful songs

HW Jr. Sucks. Hank Williams III is an entirely different matter. The apple fell off the tree and skipped a generation. He is so much like his Grand Dad it's scary.

"Skipped a generation" nails it.

So trump wants Jemele Hill fired for being a white supremicist because its so untrue, and ON THE SAME DAY he's blaming charlottesville on antifa and never even mentions nazis or the KKK.

" I think especially in light of the advent of Antifa, if you look at what's going on there. You have some pretty bad dudes on the other side also, and essentially that's what I said. Now, because of what's happened since then with Antifa -- you look at really what's happened since Charlottesville, a lot of people are saying and people have actually written, 'Gee, Trump might have a point.' I said, 'You've got some very bad people on the other side also,' which is true. "

He's either a white supremacist or he's catering to white supremacists, which is just as bad. Deal with it.

I know the song you are talking about. I haven't heard it in years. It's not racist in any way. It's a fun little song.

I understand a lot of DR's have an absolute hatred of anything country music. It's shows their intolerance.

If we suddenly start telling the truth, can we finally acknowledge that Trump is a rapist?

Who did he rape and did he rape more women than former president Clinton?
