Despite their failure to advance President Trump's agenda, congressional Republicans aren't happy about his outreach to Democrats in the House and Senate, but most voters think it's a great idea.

What I find quite interesting about Pres Trump's outreach to the Democrats is the reaction to it.

For example, the Republicans and their leadership nearly had a meltdown because the President engaged in bipartisanship.

I don't remember the Republicans and their leadership having a reaction critical to Pres Trump of such breadth and intensity for any of the things Pres Trump had done earlier in his Presidency.

It was bipartisanship that set them off.

For the Republicans, it looks like the Republican Party over Country.   Again.

Meanwhile two-thirds of likely voters like that Pres Trump is working in a bipartisan manner.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump's job performance. Fifty-six percent (56%) disapprove.

YouGov has it 42-54.
Gallup has it 37-58.

I get the 66% (moderates most likely across the parties) and 13% (the far right WS/Nazi base), but WTF on the 21%? Are these people on the far left, the fringe right or something else?

Weird.

There's a subset of Tea Party Republicans that are 100% certain Trump is actually a Democrat, has always been a Democrat, is a great friend of the Clintons, and only does Democrat things.

There is a subset of Democrats that believe the same thing.

If by 'reaching out to Democrats' Trump means engaging in meaningful compromise for the benefit of America, then yes, I too favor such outreach. I genuinely believe issues such as improving Obamacare, improving security and overhauling our immigration system are tasks that can be best handled on a bipartisan basis. The politicians, lobbyists and PAC though rely on these divide and conquer issues to keep their bases energized and the money flowing in.
