Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, September 10, 2017

After more than eight days of moving steadily through the tropical Atlantic with winds topping 100 mph, Hurricane Irma slowed down late Saturday night and began its long-predicted, long-feared turn toward Florida. Early Sunday morning, Irma was approaching the Lower Florida Keys as an intensifying Category 4 storm with top sustained winds of 130 mph. ... As Irma continues northwest, this increasing shear will begin to impede the intensification process and, together with land interaction, will eventually lead to weakening.

Irma may reach the southwest coast of Florida on Sunday afternoon while still at Category 4 strength. Regardless of its peak winds at landfall, Irma poses an extremely serious storm-surge threat to the highly populated, surge-vulnerable stretch of coastline from Fort Myers to Tampa.

Look, if you are resisting this hurricane you become a hurricane yourself.

There will be violence on both sides...

Yap, but not just on the weekends.

You will find people in Chicago shooting guns at all of the hurricanes that hit the city each and every day of the week.

...Idiot...

About the thread though.

This is another case of big gubmint run amok.

This sheriff is denying citizens of their god given right to defend themselves.

WTF!

Get the NRA to Florida ASAP.

This WILL NOT stand!

To add insult to injury Irma dropped as many as nine tornadoes in broward county including one that touched down two blocks from my brother in laws house. No contact with him since he hit the road but he left well ahead of Irma. Hope he has something to come home to

Isn't the eye the calmest part???? No energy there to speak of. One would think you would have to drop it on the leading edge of the turning winds to do any good.

My niece and her BF left Miami Thursday night. The got here last night about 10pm. So we're having lunch today watching events unfold in S. Florida. He pulled up the security camera to see if they had any water damage only to find the place had been ransacked. He called a friend that lives in the area and had stayed. The friend told him that the looting is rampant and started Saturday afternoon.

That's horrible and so sad to hear. Thieves are thieves regardless of the weather. Storms just give them more and easier targets than usual.

But those only seeking to survive after catastrophic weather events who resort to scavenging should not be lumped into the same category. Someone posted video of thieves stealing out the back door of a Foot Locker in Miami during the calm, obviously knowing the police weren't making runs at that time. I wish the vigilantes would indeed practice frontier justice on cretins like those and others thieving for greed and profit.

Anderson Cooper is in Channelside Tampa! I sort of want to make the 10min jog to go visit his set up. Cool to see the silver fox on the "front lines," lol.
