Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, August 19, 2017

The Pew Research Center published a new report this week on international attitudes towards Vladimir Putin, and not surprisingly, the Russian president is not a popular global figure. The report explained, "Around the world, few people trust Russian President Vladimir Putin to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs. A global median of roughly one-in-four (26%) say they have confidence in the Russian leader." Although confidence in Putin's handling of foreign affairs is generally low, in many countries he is more trusted than American President Donald Trump.

And that doesn't just refer to traditional Russian allies; it actually refers to traditional American allies. Indeed, in a variety of NATO members -- Greece, Germany, Turkey, Hungary, France, Italy, and Spain -- the Russian president was seen as more reliable to do the right thing than Trump. In countries like Australia, Canada, and the U.K. -- by some measures, three of the closest friends the United States has on the planet -- there's greater confidence in Trump than Putin, but the results were very close.

This is where America has fallen under the toxicity of Trump's "leadership". What will it take for even a majority of Republicans to remove their blinders and see the harm this man is wreaking throughout the globe? Trump is a cancer that cannot be allowed to further metastasize throughout the body politic much longer or any connection to the values that have always defined America may indeed succumb in his wake.

#1 Some will never see it. If Trump stood outside their house, tossed a lit torch through the living room window and tap danced while it burned, they will still blame Obama for the fire.

It will take trumpf having an approval rating less than 80% among Rs who only pay attention to Faux News. Will that ever happen? I wish I knew. It won't happen soon.

That's fine. They can pay for their defense, and build their own navy to protect the shipping lanes their exports depend on. Just don't come whining to us to bail you out again, leeches.

Hmm, I believe I can pull my own quote from the archives:

I believe, based on Trumps own history, he will be a total disaster for America.

Donald J. Trump‏ @realDonaldTrump

It's almost like the United States has no President - we are a rudderless ship heading for a major disaster. Good luck everyone!

Funny, you were the one whining about the world's faith in Obama allegedly being shaken.

Here's how it works for you simpletons. Most of them do this already. And Putin will slip in and do the extra work that we used to.

Now they back Putin when it comes to geopolitical matters and global economic affairs.

Honestly, you are not smart enough to post here.
