Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Dave Weigel, Washington Post: On Saturday afternoon, shortly before her camera captured a car plowing through left-wing activists in Charlottesville, killing one and injuring more than a dozen others, Faith Goldy warned that the left was spinning out of control.

What's the upshot here, a manufactured fear of "antifa" helped a brave but misguided soul drive his car into a crowd of them?

You got to be crazy thinking you're going to beat up a bunch of white supremacists.

"Hundreds and hundreds of antifa, weird BLM, idiots dressed like clowns," said Goldy, a reporter for the Canadian alt-right news site The Rebel. "This is okay, as long as you're not the alt-right. The alt-right wasn't allowed to demonstrate any show of force."

The Rebel, as in Rebel Media, infamous for pushing Pizzagate and fake Rape Melania signs:

It's fairly obvious that Rebel Media's "Washington bureau chief" is not a journalist covering Washington, but a provocateur who engages in disinformation. In January, Buzzfeed reported his apparent involvement in efforts to smear anti-Trump protesters with Rape Melania signs.

Not the most reliable source to put it mildly.

Oh, yeah, Rebel Media is also infamous for this:

The Rebel's Role In #MacronLeaks

Who would've guessed that a "Pizzagate" alum would spread unverified information to harm a political opponent?

The video footage doesn't lie. Both sides were dressed for war.

The question is: did the alt-right pay anybody to dress up and pretend to be counter-protesters?

Posebiec was someone Flynn and his son often retweeted. In one of the articles I posted, you can see a picture of him with Flynn Sr. Also, his fiancée has a Russian connection of her own:

"Posobiec, who calls himself a member of the #SlavRight ("It just means we're Slavic and we're on the right"), was there with his fiancée, who goes by the name Tanya Tay. Tay told me she was from Eastern Europe, in the former USSR; when I asked further, she said she came from Belarus."

One way or another, they are certainly doing Putin's dirty work of disrupting democracies across the globe.

It was probably fake blood too.

Blood was real. I'm just wondering if they hired any fake agitators to mix in with the counter-protesters crowd. It's a legitimate question given their track record.

"You got to be crazy thinking you're going to beat up a bunch of white supremacists."

Then what did they fear? Property damage to the Starbucks? Why would that even bother them, since only snooty liberals go to Starbucks in the first place?

Did you agree with the Academy, that the guy driving the car into the group of people won "Best Dressed?"

Remember James O'Keefe? People like him and Posobiec have been known to pay people to act out against them; it's good for their cause:

A left-wing political group released a new video Monday of a counter-sting that has uncovered evidence of right-wing activists trying to sow chaos at Donald Trump's inaugural ceremony, an effort to portray critics of Trump who march against him as violent fringe figures.

The counter-sting, carried out by The Undercurrent and Americans Take Action, a project of a previous target of provocateur James O'Keefe, managed to surreptitiously record elements of O'Keefe's network offering huge sums of money to progressive activists if they would disrupt the ceremony and "put a stop to the inauguration" and the related proceedings to such a degree that donors to the clandestine effort would "turn on a TV and maybe not even see Trump." To have riots blot out coverage of Trump, the donor offered "unlimited resources," including to shut down bridges into D.C.

I'm not saying that's what happened here. I am saying I wouldn't put it past these guys.

"The antifa may have faked the white nationalist protest."

Nah, the Deep State and Democrats, under the tutelage of Hillary, engineered the whole thing to make Trump look bad.

What happened was that "Unite the Right" let the Klan and neo-nazis join their rally, not a smart move. They announced the rally like a month ahead of schedule, so antifa and BLM and that professor from Princeton showed up. This confrontation could have been foreseen and stopped if we do something no other president has never done: declare the Klan and antifa and the neo-nazis to be domestic terrorist groups. Then we can infiltrate with the FBI, and take them down.

But how likely is that?

the left is tired of not fighting back and taking ---- when they far outnumber the fascists.

Some right wingers sure spend a lot of time looking for equivalence between white supremacists and protesters who oppose white supremacists.

Why has it become so hard on the right to condemn Nazis carrying torches, chanting racist and anti-Semitic slogans and committing crimes of violence? Our grandfathers cleared a continent of Nazis, but now we're not sure whether those kinds of people are bad?

Charlottesville happened because thousands of white racists descended on a nice college town, looking to cause trouble in a place full of liberals. The fault for what happened lies with the neo-Nazis.
