Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Claims of large-scale voter fraud are not true, but that has not stopped a substantial number of Republicans from believing Trump's unsubstantiated claims. But how far would Republicans be willing to follow the president to stop what they perceive as rampant fraud? Our recent survey suggests that the answer is quite far: About half of Republicans say they would support postponing the 2020 presidential election until the country can fix this problem.

What evil snowflakes. We had elections even during Civil War. If the GOP tries to skip one because Trump he and they ate outlaws, owed nothing.

Of course they are.

They are cool with everything he is doing that they were apoplectic over for the past 8 years when Obama or they thought Obama did it.

You can fool some of the people all of the time. They are called Republicans.

And Conservative posters on here prove it daily getting fact checked.

So much for USA First.

Welcome to the GOP States of America, comrades.

North America's premiere gold-leaf covered dictatorship/theocracy.

So Gallup found, in 2010, that 29% of Americans identified or leaned as Republicans, and this poll asked its questions of 650 people who "identified or leaned Republican." Since 47% of those people agreed with the statement that "the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote", simple math tells me that 13.63% of the country is in support of that statement.

Yep, its the end of democracy as we know it.

We live in a two party system where the GOP controls all three branches of government. SO....if the party followed its base, yes, it would be.

But what it really means is that a good chunk of Republicans aren't really patriotic Americans and may want to consider moving.

That part you don't seem to be questioning. Or how insane this is.

This whole idea is based on the "big lie" that millions of illegal aliens voted in the 2016 election. The Republicans pretend to believe it and their naive followers take it as truth. Pure propaganda from guys like Rove and Kobach.

The election of trump proves this country now officially has enough ignorant morons for them to start running ignorant moron candidates and winning elections, especially when combined with republican efforts to prevent liberals from voting.

Yeah that's it. The extreme conservatives who think think climate change is a hoax have the same intelligence as the extreme liberals who think it's an emergency.

You need to get outside of the DR echo chamber for a while, there are plenty of moderate republicans, independents and moderate democrats that think it is a real problem as well.

The ones I am talking about are the Anarchists, Marxists, extreme PETA, ultra sectarian nutjobs who populate the far left, those -------.

There is plenty of election fraud, by the Republicans and no one is doing anything about it because they commit the fraud in States which they control.

The difference being that the extreme left is shunned by the mainstream and politically irrelevant.

The extreme right is praised, coddled, and elected into positions of power, and sets the agenda for the rest of the party.

Of course righties will try to shrug it off.

As if a part who just elected an ignorant, narcissistic, authoritarian bigot being composed of roughly 47% of people who would support postponing elections to avoid having their party lose power is nothing.

Doubly so since they're the ones who claim to be patriots the loudest and most frequently.

But hey! I can do some rudimentary math and come up with a smaller number to point to in order to shrug it off. I'm a genius!

I wonder what the answer would be if it were posed this way, to Democrats. "Given widespread foreign interference in the 2016 election, and millions of legally registered voters having their votes suppressed in Red States, and Republican-gerrymandered districts that guarantee right-wing candidates win despite losing popular votes statewide and nationwide, would you be in favor of postponing future elections until these threats to our democracy can be fixed?"

How many of them believe Trump in anointed by God to be president? I'm pretty sure those folks would overlook a little thing like an election to keep him in place. It's God will, dontcha know.

#22 | Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2017-08-10 11:17 PM | Reply

That's the beauty of the concept.

No matter what your decision is, or Trump's, it was all part of god's plan. So don't worry, you have ZERO responsibility here on out.

Exactly right. Fundies are never responsible. You're fair game if you don't believe EXACTLY as they pretend to believe. Or that all time favorite, "The devil made me do it."

The vast majority of people, of every side of the political spectrum are ignorant. 47% of Repubs polled don't understand how the constitution works. Are any of you surprised by that? You really think it is any different on the 'other' side of the aisle?
52 percent of Democrats believe that Russia tampered with the vote totals to make Trump the winner.

A strong majority of Democrats would cancel the 2016 presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump if it meant President Obama could serve another term, a new poll found.

Most people just aren't educated enough or don't care enough to be involved in the political system, yet they have the same vote and representative power as the rest of us. Please stop encouraging articles based on how bad the 'other guy' is. I'm fully expecting juvenile name-calling to follow this, as is the pattern.
As an aside, it's pretty crappy reporting to post statements about the results of a poll without actually linking to the poll. Perhaps I missed it in the article. Does anyone else see it?

This is what happens when one party has become the low-intelligence, mass-media-fed propaganda party for years.
Federalist a la #36, apparently YOUR state didn't teach you capitalization rules.
As for #35, why lie so blatantly? Did you actually have 150 friends that would self-identify as "liberal" and answer this question? (I'm guessing no, by a factor of over 10).

Fraud explains all Bush and Trump victories. But contempt of the Democracy runs deep in the Deep State and both parties. US economic and military domination of the planet depends on destroying sovereignty of ALL uncooperative nations. The NeoCons love dictators, as Trump has demonstrated. But these lowlife's shot themselves in the foot when they offshored manufacturing. Without a powerful industrial base it is impossible to support the lecherous military and banking community necessary to maintain that global domination. Banking services leading to unsustainable debt in target nations is more important than the use of force, which is always a last resort.

India, China and Russia are not in a position to step in tomorrow and displace the US for different reasons and all of us benefit in small ways from our global domination. The downside is that we are making a lot of enemies and it is terribly expensive to keep them at bay. Only the .01% benefit substantially and that is the real purpose of all US policy.

"They will be the downfall of this country. Useful idiots."

The useful idiots are the ones on the left who helped those on the right paint an extreme stereotype of themselves (and by extension the party they supported).

The ones who would seriously entertain the idea of suspending the election are just idiots, plain and simple.
