Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Brian Stelter, CNNMoney: Widespread distrust of the White House, as shown in a new CNN poll, is not just a sign of President Trump's weakness. It's also a sign of the national news media's strength. All of the front page fact-checking, all of the stories about Trump's fibs and falsehoods, all of the segments about the White House's credibility crisis haven't gone unnoticed. ... I asked Angie Drobnic Holan, editor of PolitiFact, for her interpretation. She replied: "I suspect the CNN poll reflects that people are getting information about accuracy of political rhetoric regardless of their own political views."

One persistent fact-checker, Daniel Dale of the Toronto Star, has counted 500 "false claims" from the president in the first 200 days. ...

"For decades, Donald Trump got away with blatant falsehoods because no one was keeping track," Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler told CNNMoney in an email. "If you mislead people about an apartment sale, or mislead your bankers, no one puts out a news release or calls attention to the falsehoods."

"But now that he's president," Kessler said, "Trump is discovering there are consequences. Every word is quoted and analyzed, and is compared to what was said before or how it conforms with reality."

What's the point of even fact checking him anymore? Everyone with a brain knows not to believe him, and everyone without a brain will believe anything he says.

Fact checking is done to determine whether the source of information is to be believed.

Trump has told so many obvious easily disproven lies that everything he says should be assumed to be false. His credibility is below zero.

All fact checkers need to do is write: "This came from trump. The worlds most famous proven liar. So..."

Trump uses the media to change the daily headline:

When Manafort's house was raided the headline became 'No more transgender soldiers in the military' (though certainly not an actual new military policy).

When the Manafort raid became a headline it is trumped by 'North Korea will see a blistering fire and fury unlike anything the world has ever seen' (this will not happen)

Is there a pattern here?

Sure gives the talking heads plenty of daily material to chew on though.

How about fact checking when we found out NK had 60 small nukes? How about fact checking the latest Ocean Rising and highest temperature claims? How about fact checking the charges for Trump regarding Russia?
No, the Left would rather believe what the media tells them. The results of 8 years of a Shepard telling you where the Green grass was. Is it too much to ask you to evolve?

Why don't you let the investigation happen? You sure as hell didn't care about the burden of proof when hillary was investigated. Then it was all guilty until proven guilty with you people.

"Is it too much to ask you to evolve?"

Yes it is, we're still waiting for you knuckledraggers to catch up. Besides, I thought you people didn't believe in evolution.
